US: 3 killed in 'random' shooting at convenience store in Yakima, Washington

Wednesday, January 25, 2023

At least 3 people have been killed in an incident of shooting at a convenience store in Yakima city of Washington state in the US on Tuesday, according to The New York Times.

The gunman randomly shot 21 people in a store, the police officials said adding that the shooter fled the scene straight after the attack. After the incident took place, the Yakima Police Department were called around 3:30 a.m. to a Circle K store on the city's east side where they found three dead, both outside as well as inside the store, the New York Times reported, citing Matthew Murray, the Police Chief.

He added that the shooting appeared 'random' and that there were no apparent conflicts between the victims and the gunman.

Yakima, Washington, a city of around 96,000 people, became the most recent area in the US to deal with gun violence in the first few weeks of 2023 as a result of the incident.

The tragic incident took place a few hours after shootings were reported from two locations in the Half Moon Bay area in northern California of the United States on Tuesday in which 7 people were killed and one was critically injured.

Who on earth is going to update the thread 30 times a day??

Nobody, since the real purpose of these gun posts were to simply flood the Americas forum with multiple new threads everyday to push the others ones down.

Once a topic is made a sticky thread the topic is rarely talked about ever again. Look at how the Asian Lives Matter and Black Lives Matter posts went from several new threads a day to zero after they were made sticky threads.

Three people were killed and at least four injured in a shooting in Los Angeles, the city’s fire department said Saturday, California’s fourth mass shooting in a week.

Responders found three people dead and two injured, which were taken to a hospital, the fire department said. Two others took themselves to a hospital, the spokesperson said.

CNN affiliate KCAL said the shooting occurred just outside of Beverly Hills in the Beverly Crest community. Three victims were shot inside a car and other four while standing outside a home.

The four people hospitalized are reportedly in critical condition, the station said.

2 injured, 1 dead in El Sereno shooting

JANUARY 31, 2023 / 4:26 AM / KCAL NEWS

One man was killed and two others were injured in a shooting in El Sereno just after midnight Tuesday.

Los Angeles police officers responded to multiple calls of a shooting at a house on the 4400 block of Maycrest Avenue at 12:28 a.m. Tuesday.

Arriving officers found two victims with gunshot wounds outside the house, according to LAPD Homicide Lt. Ryan Rabbett, and a third victim with a gunshot wound down the street. That man, described in his late 40s or early 50s, was declared dead at the scene by paramedics, Rabbett said.

A man was hospitalized in stable condition and a woman was hospitalized in critical condition. Both were in their 40s or 50s, Rabbett said.

Evidence suggested the shooting may have occurred on the porch or in the yard, Rabbett said, though he said the investigation was still in its preliminary stages.

Police believe others may have been inside the house at the time of the shooting but left before officers arrived.

The Los Angeles County coroner’s office has revealed the identities of the three people who were fatally shot at a house party in Los Angeles on Saturday. As we previously reported, three people were killed and four were injured in the early morning shooting which occurred outside a $3 million rental home in the neighborhood of Beverly Crest, just two miles from Beverly Hills.

Who on earth is going to update the thread 30 times a day??

Somebody who is going to post violent crime stories that mostly fall under this:

Violent crime, like the price of gas, is rising. Not everyone is experiencing this crime wave in the same way. For some, it’s a distant issue experienced by other people somewhere else. For others, it’s a daily life-threatening concern.

We parsed the FBI’s crime data from 2011 to 2020 (the most recent data available) and found that African Americans bear an increasingly large share of the harm from crime. African American offenders, meanwhile, are committing an increasingly large share of violent crimes.

For other racial groups, the numbers are either decreasing (in the case of both white victims and offenders), increasing by much smaller amounts, or holding constant.

It's good we have a dedicated thread for this. Otherwise people will make 10 different threads daily for such incidents.
