But the most impressive one was the Saudi team...They were absolutely hors normes...
Thanks 7abibi. You must be over 25 years old or close to your 30's. Is that right? Because then you lived in the era of the heydays of the Saudi Arabian national team that for over 15 years was the best Asian and Arab football national team. From the early 1990's to the mid 2000's.
Qualifying for the World Cup 4 times in a row, beating European teams in the World Cup, advancing from the group stages, winning the Asian Cup 3 times, playing several finals, Saudi Arabian football teams winning the Asian Champions League every second year or being in the final etc. Saudi Arabians winning Asian player of the year and Arab player of the year trophies etc.
Sadly I was not born some of that time, either a baby or just a kid not even knowing that the hell KSA was or football. My first football memory is from the year 1998. World Cup final. France-Brazil 3-0.
And for anyone not knowing what "hors normes" means in French then that means "out of the ordinary".
Anyway Algeria obviously has a better team than Iran. Just look at the players, last years results and the players and the leagues they are playing in.
But Iran are not bad. Maybe they can make 1 upset in the next World Cup but overall it will be very difficult to get anything for both Algeria and Iran.
I and most other Arabs if not all will cheer for Algeria in the next World Cup.
And had Karim Benzema, Nasri etc. been playing for Algeria then Algeria would be even stronger and by far ahead of everyone else. But those are people born in France, playing football in France and under the influence of the French talent system which is good. Must be admitted.
Anyway the Arab world should have much better footballers considering the ENORMOUS popularity of soccer, what the hell I am doing, obviously football, thank you @Ceylal for making me mess this up, the population of nearly 500 million, and all the talents. Problem is the USELESS football federations, lack of development, no focus on youth, poor facilities mostly and egoism. Not much team spirit. Bad losers etc. Some are chain smokers and lazy too. LOL. But Zizou also smoked and was the best anyway in his heydays.
They should be send to Germany to learn discipline and team spirit etc. Discipline and more discipline.
Algerian teletubies, Ceylal. What is going on?
@Ceylal
Where you born there?
