I am unaware of the Gulf Air Fuel policy, but what is the minimum requirement by law I can answer,
Fuel required to fly to destination + 10% of destination fuel (contingency)+ Taxi fuel (10 min) + 1 Missed approach + Fuel to Alternate airport (Alternate can not be less then 100 nautical miles from destination. + weather (on pilot request)

I can not say any thing about the exact amount of fuel that was on board but what all the above calculation would say is that the fuel was not sufficient for this aircraft to land at Karachi, Nawabshah or Muscat More over what was the weather situation at the airports mentioned. I know it was very windy at Karachi on 1st March so it was not safe to land or take off. All this is speculation because what was the actual weather at the time this aircraft was supposed to land an any airport be it destination or alternate is most important.

The pilots and cabin crew might not be able to fly this plane till they have attained proper rest so the flight may be further delayed. This is due to the safety of passengers.

as i said, let the fog clear and you'll get your answers why it went to delhi contrary to as you suggested PIA would have landed in Karachi.

Oh my god I cant explain how terrible the situation of people is at Delhi airport. I have not slept since past 62 hours or more with exception of 15 mins of half sleep inside the aircraft

I cant just explain right now we all are almost out of control and cant bear this torture anymore

Did you read the post to which I commented? OP was saying he is sleepless for 62 hours, means he was sleepless for good 30 hours before landing in India..

UK to Bahrain is 9 hours tops.... He could have napped in hospitable Bahrain AP else 3 hours more for transit still leaves 18 hours of perfectly hospitable places for getting some sleep. Also, whether he is coming from UK or anyplace else, 30 hours of sleepless journey? enough to get you sick already...

Well if lightning did strike the aircraft what kind of damage it caused is not known. It is up to the Captain to assess if he / she thinks what is the best think to do, how much can he afford to fly safely?

Once the aircraft is on the ground then the full extent of the damage can be assessed. Still it is not possible to say if the aircraft can be repaired in the time that has been estimated.

The reason I suggested PIA would have landed at Karachi is because it is the main HUB all the facilities are available. If for any reason Karachi was not available then it would have flown to Muscat which is the hub for Oman Air and Gulf Air.They would not have landed at Dehli because they would have difficulty of getting the recovery of passengers and aircraft along with crew and cargo.

If things would have been normal between India and Pakistan the passengers could be transported to Lahore by bus or train but this is not the case.

If the news is correct and the passenger manifesto was not provided by the airline to enable disembarkation, there is a likelihood that it was being scrubbed before providing. This likely took time and civilian passengers had to suffer.

Likely a high value ISI or military passenger was on board and Pak authorities did not want this known.

It is simply a case of airlines trying to save on ground services, airport terminal usage fees and costs of overnight hotel stays! Nothing to do with India or Indian airline authorities, they have done nothing wrong in this particular case!

It happens even in GULF countries and USA all the time. I myself have experienced this is CDG, Paris!

Sirjee,About Adnan Sami,he can apply for a long term visa & renew it accordingly,there is no need for him to apply Indian citizenship. He can money and all the contacts.I fully agree there is no dual citizenship. Adnan Sami is a Canadian National of Pakistani origin,comes from a well educated family. His grandfathers were Nawabs of Afghanistan. His father was a Ambassador to several countries.

You should know, you can drag hindu govt. to international court of justice.
If you have some community restriction, try to convince them as well.
