A first of its kind, Gujarat will dedicate India’s first 1 MW Canal-top Solar Power Project on the Sanand Branch Canal of the Sardar Sarovar Project. Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi will dedicate the project to the nation tomorrow.
This project was developed by Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Limited (GSECL) with support from the Sardar Sarovar Narmada Nigam Limited (SSNNL). It will generate 1.6 million units of clean electricity per year and 90 lakh litres of water will be prevented from getting evaporated.
NaMo killed two birds with one stone:
1) Generation of 1.6 million units of Solar Energy per year.
2) Stopping evaporation of 90 lakh litres of water.
And what's the best part. You did not need to bring any additional land into use for cultivating this Energy. It was all lying there.
Now, this is how its done.
This is how water management is done. I hope the Pakistani government brings such projects that helps save water instead of crying about dams built by India.

P.S. The article is written on 23rd April. Hence, the tomorrow here would mean that Gujarat will dedicate it today itself.
