New Delhi: There have been sharp reactions to a media report that says the Special Investigation Team (SIT) has given Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi a clean chit in the Ehsaan Jaffri murder during the Gujarat riots.

Sources say some in the government have questioned the authenticity of report.

The SIT report was submitted to the Supreme Court in a sealed cover a week ago. A media report suggests that the Supreme Court appointed SIT has not found 'substantial evidence' against Modi who has been accused of giving post-Godhra rioters a free run.
