Manish Sood alias Bunty, president of the Punjab unit of Akhil Bharatiya Hindu Suraksha Samiti, was today killed allegedly by his security guard at his residence in Sirhind Mandi of Fatehgarh Sahib.

The guard, identified as Somnath, reportedly pumped 16 bullets into Sood's body, killing him on the spot. Though Somnath has been arrested, reasons for the murder that took place around 11pm are yet to be known.

SP (City) Daljit Singh Rana said it could not be immediately known as to why the guard killed Sood.

"Investigations are on and the body has been sent to the civil hospital for post-mortem," he said.

Besides Rana, Senior Superintendent of Police Gurpreet Singh Gill and DSP Jagjit Singh Jalla rushed to the crime spot after being informed about the incident.

Sood was in the news for assault on Beant Singh assassination convict Jagtar Singh Hawara in a court complex in Chandigarh in 2011.

A day after Punjab unit chief of the Akhil Bharatiya Hindu Suraksha Samiti Manish Sood, aka, Bunty was shot dead by his security guard on Monday night, the samiti said the Khalistan Liberation Force (KLF) was behind his murder.

However, the police have denied the involvement of any radical Sikh organisation in Sood’s murder.

President of the north India student wing of the samiti Nishant Sharma said Sood had been receiving threat calls from the KLF since 2011 when he roughed up former Punjab chief minister Beant Singh’s assassin Jagtar Singh Hawara.
He alleged that the KLF would have given money to the security guard to eliminate Sood. Nishant said the police was informed about the threat calls but they failed to act.

Denying the allegations, district police chief Gurpreet Singh Gill said investigations were on and the police were trying to get the call details of Sood and his security guard Somnath, a resident of Gurdaspur.

Prima facie it looks that they both consumed liquor after which they had a heated argument, the police said, adding that Somnath pumped 16 bullets into Sood from his official gun in a fit of rage.

‘Police was informed in advance'

Meanwhile, national chief of the samiti Panchanand Giri said that Sood received threat calls on Monday saying that they would eliminate him and those accompanying him when he roughed up Hawara in 2011. Giri said he called Sirhind station house officer (SHO) at 9:42 pm to inform him about the threat calls.

The SHO asked his deputy to look into the matter, but in vain, alleged Giri. Meanwhile, tension gripped Sirhind on Tuesday amid sloganeering by radical Hindu and Sikh organisations.

Family demands probe

However, Sood’s family members claimed that he did not consume liquor as he had undergone a surgery for hernia two weeks back. Demanding a through probe, they alleged that Sood was a victim of a deeprooted conspiracy.
Sood along with other members of the samiti, including Nishant Sharma, Ramesh Dutt and Ashutosh Sharma, had roughed up Hawara inside the district courts complex in Chandigarh on November 12, 2011.

Meanwhile, representatives of various Hindu organisations, including the Akhil Bharatiya Hindu Suraksha Samiti, Bajrang Dal and Shiv Sena and members of the BJP gave a bandh call and forced shopkeepers to down their shutters in Sirhind.

Sood survived a murderous attack allegedly by workers of the Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) after he had damaged the posters of Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale last year.

Sood was cremated on Tuesday at 4 pm amid thick deployment of the police force.

Oh right, nothing bad ever happens in 'shining India', and what little bad that does happen is because of the ISI. The ISI runs training camps teaching Indians how to defecate in public, training camps for monkeys that go crazy and attack humans, and training camps for pigeons who carry out terrorist attacks in disguise and blame it on the Khalistan movement.

This is not as simple as some are trying to take it. After Indira, this is 2nd such incident where a Hindu leader is killed by a Sikh guard. Bharti interference in Pakistan had reached to such levels where something needed to be done to sort it out.

I never said he did it for money, just that it was the allegation made. The police have put it down to a fit of anger after consuming alcohol. Supposedly both the guard & the victim were drunk.
