GSLV Mk III launch within 45 days: ISRO Chairman

SRIHARIKOTA: The launch of GSLV Mark III — one of Indian Space Research Organisation's biggest project this year — was likely within 45 days, its Chairman K Radhakrishnan said here today.

Addressing from the Mission Control Room after the successful launch of IRNSS 1C, he said the next launch was the most awaited launch of GSLV Mark III.

While another communication satellites GSAT 16 with 48 transponders was to be launched on board Ariane 5 from the French Guyana in December, ..

This will be first test flight of GSLV MKIII with the cryogenic engine riding passively, means it will not ignite. We need more successful flights of GSLV MKII first. MKIII with operational cryogenic engine will take time.
