Growing Mumbai - The city of Dreams

.
[

Chandigarh is nowhere near Islamabad in any way . Yeah ofcourse Islamabad rarely has any poor living within it's vicinity Houses in Pakistan are more posh because Pakistani's prefer to live in Houses and housing societies compared to apartments in India .If given the choice no sane man is going to choose a luxurious house in Bahria town over an apartment in Pakistan , but the case is reversed in India where people prefer living in condos in urban areas . Mumbai is somewhere around 800 sq .km according to google . Not talking about metropolitan or surrounding suburbs .

As for Clean areas in India well there is a reason the word Dirty and India go together no? In Islamabad or Lahore the streets are kept squeeky clean by the local governments . Maybe it has to do with Muslims prefer living in clean environment compared to Hindus or maybe civic sense in India is just very low .

Do have a look at these though ;)

Lahore

Islamabad

Lol we keralites bath almost 2 times in a day and majority are hindu population. Its nothing to do with religion, its availability of water, climate, attitude of an individual etc matters....

Now you want to compare Mumbai with Karachi !

Mumbai city ranges until Navi mumbai etc lol

It is the city of having stock market of 3.35 trillion dollar

It is having both Metro and monorail system

It is almost second largest skyscrapers under construction in the world after a chinese city

It is home of one of the largest number of billionaires

It is the home of largest film industry in the world(Number of films/year)

India is having many cities like Bangalore,Kochi,Surat etc which you people never seen before.

If you go any where in the world on a leading airlines, there will informations about the tourists destination cities, which Delhi and Mumbai will be added on airline magazines, but i never seen any leading airlines magazines talking about Karachi !

And there it is! Your Pakistani mentality, education and upbringing has to 'shine' through somewhere! As for the rest of your post, it is clear that you live in a well.

O' well!

The pics here are manipulated as they only show the good side of Mumbai. Reality is 62% live in slums in or around Mumbai. Most of these slum dwellers survive on less than $1USD per day and spend their entire days working long hours in the blistering sun, using rivers as toilets, sleeping on sidewalks and scraping to find shelter under bridges.

– About 1 million people live within 1 square mile, making it the most densely populated area on planet earth
– The average wage is between $1-2USD per day
Dharavi is the most productive slum in the world. It’s over a billion dollar industry
There is an average of 1 toilet per 1,450 people
– 60% of the families have lived in Dharavi for 60+ years
– The average life span is under 60 years old, due to disease and health concerns
– The slum is divided into communities by religion, with 60% Hindu, 33% Muslim and 6% Christian and 1% other

I am stating facts. Even abroad the Indian areas are worst in terms of cleaniless . In KL the dirtiest place is little India.

Indians don't like to hear these things. They keep on posting pics of the 5 % of mumbai and leaving out the rest 95 % .:D

I am actually a big fan of Sheila Simkin (whom you posted here). She does some great down to earth travel videos and speaks her mind clearly!

You may be interested in the rankings by EIU for cities from 2015 (not much changed this year in overall positions, but they have yet to release the full report I think):

This year's best and worst:

Mumbai overall score is somewhere around 56 this year overall. Delhi is even better.

Your bias and upbringing is clear for all to see. Sheep like you cannot live a day without bringing ridiculous fairy tales aka religion into your conversation. Pathetic! Pakistanis are generally annoyed they are where they are and will always be, and it's no surprise given how you always need to be someone's **bleep** in order to exist ...right from '47.

 5%? As someone (can't remember who) said a few pages ago, Bombay must be the size of Germany then! I sometimes wonder if you lot have had a proper education at all given how you seem to pull out numbers from your rear end.

http://zeenews.india.com/news/nation/india-dirtiest-country-in-the-world-jairam-ramesh_741873.html

New Delhi: India remains the "dirtiest and
filthiest" country in the world, Rural Development Minister
Jairam Ramesh said on Monday, lamenting that people in many areas
had access to mobile phones, but not toilets.

Ramesh, who is also a minister for Drinking Water and
Sanitation, highlighted lack of awareness about sanitation and
expressed concern on the issue of rampant open defecation
in the country, particularly in rural areas.

"In one area in which India can claim success in the
social sector is education. We can`t say same thing in health,
we can`t say same thing in nutrition, we certainly can`t say
the same thing in sanitation because we do remain the dirtiest and filtiest country in the world.

Thats actually the first difference that strikes foreign tourists that visit both Pakistan and India. Get your head out of the sand and learn to live with facts and figures .

They first have to reach the capital of our poorest province in 2016 first......
And we are not talking about 5% of the city, but the entire city.....

Guiyang City's poorest region, former "slums".

The thread is about Bombay, Andrew, not some random chinese province/city. Do read the the title of the thread - that's a massive clue. You and I both know that this forum is perfect for chinese and pakistani posters to cheer each other on for absolutely no reason at all. ;)
