Oh! naa kar yar………before I thought may be I will reach out senior member milestone in my 80s or 90s (if I ever live that long), but now:undecided:………..have to reborn???..........Its way too much for people like me who shun themselves from posting when they have nothing to say instead of posting just for the sake of post count improvement. This action will definitely nurse along quantity. Make it simple…….1000 posts and one year membership sounds realistic for senior members……..and so as 5000 posts and 3 years for elite’s. Members should have to meet both these targets to become senior or elite……..and not just this, this proposed system will also better intermingle with the current one (since no demotions have already been announced by WebMaster). Otherwise, every now and then “why members with less than 10,000 posts are elite” kind of threads will pop up from newbies……..kindly think once again and try to make “rules” keeping average members like me in mind rather than hard hitters.

Freshies: - 0 - 300 posts
Can't create thread anywhere but introductions section, can't self delete, can't reply in some sections may be?

Full Members: 300 posts + 1 Month period
Can create threads, can reply anywhere, can't add polls

Senior Members: 2500 posts + 3 months period
Can create threads, can add polls, can self delete, can reply everywhere

Premium Members: 5000 Posts + 1 year period
All members permissions enabled

Elite Memers: 10,000 posts + 2 years period
All members permissions enabled + can create a thread in dedicated "Elite Club section" where only members above Elite status can reply. That can be a sub-section under Members Club

Junior Moderators = 15,000 posts + 3 years period
Can close the threads, can add polls in existing threads, can suspend member for 2 hours period (and prevent forum from flooding of spammers) until MODs arrive.

Star Members = 15,000 posts + 3 years period for non-Pakistanis
Larger Mail box and Pinkish group colour

Good decision,
I think there should be some "reputation points system"

P.S one question, what about paid elite membership?

That's what I was thinking too. A consistent quality of postings is the ideal way of judging members rather than quantity or longevity. Even if the time is unspecified, a member can keep spamming all threads till he/she reaches the number, and then wait for the clock to do the magic.

Another thing - if there are no demotions based on this criteria, that is fine. But if any senior, elite or Think Tanks get banned, they should not be restored to their previous ranks. They should be made to earn their stripes again.

In my opinion, paid members deserve a separate status, but not Elite. They can be called Premium members, which is acceptable.

10K to b an elite member......sounds very unrealistic....5K wld be better:pop:
Probably thought it should be an unrealistic figure... As Jana mentioned, it should be required to have spent years and grown into the role.

To put it bluntly someone who makes it to Elite, demonstrates the ability to not eff things up along their journey for that number of months/years and a whole lot of posts hence earning the right to our leniency.

Everybody else faces a tougher audience when performing for the management staff.

One thing I 've often wondered is that when a member is temporarily banned , his post count remains the same and if he continues long enough he gets promoted fast. There should be some penalties reducing a token number of posts as punishment for trolling/misbehaving. This might encourage people seeking to improve their post count /gain thanks by posting one-liners/offensive stuff to post more carefully.

@Rules : Good to improve the quality of discussions ( Of course at my posting rate all my hopes of reaching Senior membership go up in smoke :frown::frown:)

Twould be great if certain posts/members are specially marked by management with rep points ......similar to the suggestion someone made earlier......

Lots of them will go negative

Any way with such high reachs.. most will have lost hope and trolling will increase, coz nobody will care for these positions.

This is going to backfire big time!!!!

exactly, the Gap between the promotions is so high that the members will care less about their promotions..... instead of controlling trolls or improving the quality of posts - it may hurt or damage the reputation of member's posts...

Imagine a member with 500 posts knows he will never reach upto elite of 10k posts - so why always worry about making sense in my posts - he will have a light discussion and quality of the forum will never increase

May be Yes - May be Not - Time will decide this part

With the new rules in place - there won't be a need for the management to tolerate such antics from every newbie in town. People who post quality, don't post it to achieve a title on an online forum. The titles are primarily to showcase your standing in front of the management, more than it is a validation of your status amongst your peers.

Newbies will face a tough time, getting forward and will be allowed to stay only if they demonstrate that quality to do so.

How about decent members who avg around 5 posts a day. To me this tweak is more aimed at those who avg 50 posts a day, hence the big gaps between the promotions. :pop: This change will make VERY hard for the users who avg 5 posts a day which are more than those who avg 30-50.

What about promotions to Elite member status based on Forum administration discretion and post quality of member? If some posters are indeed very good (but cannot be in TT for whatever reason) then promotion to Elite Status based on post quality could act as a motivation tool.

We could have a sticky thread where members could recommend others for Elite Status, in order to bring them to Forum Administration attention, though decision would rest with Administration.
