Grieving couple commits suicide after dog dies

HYDERABAD, India (Reuters) - Unable to come to terms with the death of their pet dog, an elderly couple in southern India committed suicide by hanging themselves, police said on Monday.

The bodies of 67-year-old retired soldier C.N. Madanraj and his wife, Tarabai, 63, were found on Sunday in their home in a suburb of Hyderabad.

Police said the childless couple had held a burial ceremony for their dog of 13 years, called "Puppy," and hosted a feast for friends before hanging themselves in their bedroom.

"The couple described the grief over their pet dog in the suicide note they left on March 29," said police inspector V. Anantaiah.

Whether to kill yourself over a dog, or not or over anything else, is their matter. I cannot even believe that you guys can post such crap, the man committed suicide because he was 'heartboken' in Jammu. BTW Jammu is peaceful, its only the valley that has problems.

Next time such crap is posted, i'l put up news off human right abuses in pakistan, poverty, etc, etc, dissapearences and stuff. I think you guys forget, that for a country your size, you got worse problems.

This is a sad news my condolences, i my self had two big huge truly darling of a Friends my jenny and marshal pure german shepperd one got acid thrown in it by some nut cracks died latter on jenny became sick afterwords she died few years later i still cry till date for them was depress for quite some time myself so true as former cat stevens now yusuf islam once sang....
