Mine: Imran Khan winning the election and giving hope to a nation held hostage to the usual Zardari/Sharif/Military revolving door.

Why is nobody talking about Operation Zarb e Azb here.

We literally smashed the scourge of terrorism from the face of the country, and eliminated the biggest threat facing our country. I remember when there was a time there were suicide attacks every other day, our institutions had no idea how to tackle this threat. TTP had captured Swat, and was conquering more cities. They were operating as a proper government; collecting taxes and providing services to people. The writ of the State was challenged, and rightly so the State responded with ferocious MIGHT. The TTP commanders who were openly challenging the State, chastising PA, acting as Gods shaved their beards and ran away. They were picked out of the crowds and shot in the heads.

The writ of the State can never be challenged and the institutions need to be strong for any country. Just look at what happened to Syria.

this is one awesome presentation of an AMRAAM
face of an Air Force presenting the scenario, what about their army and navy.
a blind can read the humiliation and morale down the drain on the faces.
2019 is the year to remember and left with lots and lots of new lessons to learn in this new year.
May Allah help us learn, implement and succeed, ameen.

When the State of Pakistan broke a psychological barrier and hanged Mumtaz Qadri. It was a huge step in direction towards defeating extremism in Pakistan but we started to crumble the next year, but nonetheless, it was one of the greatest moments of last decade.

A very good thread with an excellent topic, I however will share the greatest moments for Pakistan in the last decade, but success is just one factor one learns more from failures, humiliation so I'll share the lowest moments as well here goes:

one of the greatest moment:

Pakistan’s Supreme Court disqualifies former PM Sharif from holding office for lifetime

Another Great moment:

And two of the lowest moments of last decade:

And yet another lowest moment:

Remember these high points and the humiliations.

Without a second thought for me the best thing happened with Pakistan in last decade was joint tenures of Gen. Raheel & Gen. Bajwa.

Hope: There was a time when hardly a day went by without a bomb blast, resulting in loss of lives and collateral damage. Innocent civilians were dying. Army, Navy and Airforce installations were getting hit and most painful of these events was the incidence of APS. Country had become unliveable. Karachi was another pain in the neck. Gen Raheel was the one who launched Zarb Azab and turnaround the law and order. This brought back hope among the people. And after completing his tenure Gen. Raheel gracefully retired. Without going for an extension.

Self esteem: Americans were constantly blaming us for what was their own failure in Afghanistan. Gen Bajwa was the one who took a bold and courages step. He got US, the sole superpower, of our back by pulling out of a war which wasn't ours.

Now Pakistan is back on the to prosperity. Like any other country we have our own problems. But the good things is that Democratic institutions are working, military is getting stronger. Economy is a grey area and requires lot of hard work and business/investment friendly policies.

Good luck for the new decade.

Removal of Fazal Ul Rehman from the political landscape

He was not just backing TTP but was also involved in Army Public Attack and threatened the Army of consequences for investigations of corruption. Pakistan used to tolerate his political corruption because of his influence in FATA and Afghanistan - not anymore Alhamdolillah.

The person who does not believe in the independence of Kashmir (or creation of Pakistan) has been chairman Kashmir Committee for over a decade. His political death is a victory for Pakistan.
