I imagine it would be good exercise, a cricket bat is fairly weighty, and launching consistently accurate+powerful swings against human targets trying to defend themselves is no easy feat.

If extremists want to enter from either side, they will just go the legitimate way and go through customs.

Look at how extremists enter Britain in huge numbers, they just go right through Heathrow airport.

these are not extremists these are terrorists. Many of them are given money and arms and little bit of brainwashing. Poverty does the rest. You wont find doctors or engineers fighting in kashmir (unlike UK homegrown extremists who are intelligent people but somehow decided to go rouge).
A fence is a good enough deterrent for stopping these illeterate people used as cannon fodder. And it has worked to reduce the number of incidents.
One can never stop terror incident happening but if you can reduce infiltrators, you have very less to take care of in the urban center where the attack will happen.

The type of attack UK faces are different, luckily they got a sea around them hence immune from ordinary attackers.

A 135 feet wide wall? - I would love to see them try, on a serious note, this wall should have been built decades ago.

Actually after this Wall the Indians will literally loose their right to ask Pak for trade routes... Plus now Pak should start building Walls on Sindh Border and Indian River Channels as from one there comes smuggling from India and from other they flood Pakistan.
