ISLAMABAD: The government on Thursday decided that there would be no more Saturday weekly holiday in the federal departments across the country. The former government had announced two weekly holidays for the federal departments to overcome the growing energy crisis. The two weekly day offs affected the performance of federal departments adversely, therefore, it has been decided to observe only one holiday in a week instead of two holidays in the federal government offices

Well IMO 2 days off is good jus increase timings of work 1-2 hours so people will get 2 days coz 1day off is not good as most of the people are tried and next they have to go for work

i think it is better to implement the german system like you have to work 40 hours per week. But, nevertheless, it is good decision. we have to work hard and extra time to uplift the business. Pakistan has highest number of public holidays as compare to other countries.

40 hrs per week ( 5 work days with 8 hrs/day of work and 2 days off) have become de facto international standard and I don't know any developed country digressing from it at national level. And they arrived at this conclusion after a lot of research as it allows people to spend a lot of quality time with their families and even people living in different cities can easily visit their families.
