It will be best thing for Pakistan.

Government should reduce 50% of it’s overhead by introducing e-government, removing ghost employees, automation and privatization.
Majority of the problems can be fixed by digitalizing the whole economy. BlockChain or any similar system can be implemented with centralized database. Digitalization of data is extremely important, all records should be digitized. Once data is there it can be imported in blockchain.
some of the data is already digitalized but to centralize and secure the data, we need to invest in infrastructure/data centers/DR and trained IT professionals with proper clearance to manage it.
If government is serious about that, it will probably take 3 to 4 years to accomplish it.

What are the benefit of digitalization?

1. It will make it easy to collect taxes when the whole economy is digitalized.
2. If the whole economy become digitalized, it will be almost impossible to do the money laundering.
3. It will improve our business transactions and banking sector.
4. It will make it easy to do land reform when land records are digitalized.
5. Buying and selling of vehicles will be easy when the ownership records are digitalized.
6. Easy for government to hire if the background check process is digitalized.
7. If the Criminal record is digitalized then it will be easy to find criminals.

Govt. deadwood is a huge burden on Pakistani taxpayer but such news is detrimental to privatise of these underperforming institutions. For 30 years govt. is just making statements instead of privatising these huge whiute elephants. First privatise these institutions that have been corrupted and overloaded by political appointees.
