Govt Inaugurates Cage Fish Farming Program to Quadruple Fish Production

The federal government has finally inaugurated the impending Catch Cultural Cluster Development Project at Dharabi Dam, Chakwal.

The project, worth Rs. 1.5 billion will be run under the umbrella of the Prime Minister’s Agriculture Emergency Program.




The project aims to increase the country’s fish production fivefold using modern techniques. Under the project, 5,000 cage farms will be established in various areas of Punjab to promote cage fish farming.

i think karachi and gawadar have sea and if govt properly utilize its potential they can provide better means of sea food exports,govt should also ensure that water of canals and dams not become polluted due to such farming of fish as already we are short of clean water

These project don't make headlines like an "International Airport in Bannu"(whoever gave him that idea), but they sure do make a lot more difference on ground.

And people need to realise these things take time, nothing happens overnight.

Suppose if each farm just adds employment for 10 people say the fish farmer and his/her helpers, drivers for logistics, people at the factory for cleaning and processing the fish, packagers etc etc. That adds 50,000 jobs through the value chain and that is just a conservative estimate.
