LAHORE: Pakistan Peoples Party leader and senior lawyer Aitzaz Ahsan said on Wednesday that the federal government had succeeded in saving Maryam Nawaz from the Dawn Leaks scandal and demanded that DG ISPR resign.

Speaking to SAMAA TV, Aitzaz Ahsan said that it was apparent for all to see that all matters had been resolved between the civilian and military leadership. He urged Major General Asif Ghafoor, the ISPR Spokesperson, to resign.

"The Pakistan Army spokesperson should have resigned rather than take back his tweet," he said.

Aitzaz also said that instead of basing decisions on the principles of cricket, the Pakistan Army spokesperson should have resigned. The PPP leader said that the government had been successful in protecting Maryam Nawaz from the Dawn Leaks scandal.

"Maryam and the name of the media cell was not taken hence she has been rescued," he said.

Aitzaz Ahsan said that there was nothing new in the notification issued by the Interior Ministry and that the names of the persons included were the same who had been made the scapegoats in this case.

Another hypocrite of PPP. He will leave no opportunity to point fingers at others yet would never utter a single word on Zardari and Co.

No. Gen Bajwa needs to resign. He has compromised national security. ISPR is public relations and nothing more. It's Gen Bajwa who is answerable for this.

Once again Mubarak to tubbar as this Pakistan is their londi.
