Government "Cancels" deal with Mastercard / NADRA

ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has ordered to immediately suspend Nadra and Mastercard agreement aimed at enabling Pakistani nationals to use their computerised national identity cards (CNICs) to carry out financial transactions and receive government disbursements.

This announcement in this regard was made at World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2017 taking place between January 17 and 20 in Davos, Switzerland. With agreement taking effect, Nadra card could be used for financial transactions.

The interior minister said the agreement was made without a written permission by the government and without any consultation with stake-holders. "Sensitive security matters were not kept in view while signing the agreement," he said.

Transactions are done by a random number (credit card which can be changed if theft occurs)

its good decision because western countries miss using Pakistani people data using afghani terrorists and putting Pakistan label. Its good for Pakistan not to give access to its vital national data base of country people to foreign companies instead give permission to these companies to do business on Pakistani terms & conditions as Pakistan is big population country and big opportunity for them to do business here in Pakistan. if they want to do business they should follow Pakistani rules and regulation not impose their own terms & conditions. If Pakistani govt allow like this then it will be easy for west to fund their agents through these cards so its better to keep strict watch on financial matters its a fourth generation wars era where many countries miss using opportunities into war tools.
