NAB is a compromised institute and it is simply not possible to revamp a less than 1% conviction rate organisation to even 2% without any jurisdiction. Government can't hire and fire NAB personnel, it has no jurisdiction over it. Whereas it has jurisdiction over FIA and FBR so those departments are being worked on and given more powers.

Nawaz Sharif Butt and Zardari ALMOST got away with their financial terrorism because of incompetencies deeply embedded within NAB. During PPP's, and especially PMLN's tenure, the parties in power were able to plant their stooges deep within the NAB bureaucracy.

I would even go as far as to say that just like the ECP, NAB is not only compromised but also anti-state.

I'm expecting the Pakistani state to clean up and revamp FBR as well as the police, judiciary and prisons. The whole system is there to make life easier for murderous crooks like Nawaz Sharif Butt and Zardari etc.

The idea is to put these murderous traitors in a regular, normal prison cell with regular prison food and water that is given to any other prisoner.

It can strengthen NAB through amendments to the ordinance.

1. Make is compulsory that the witness must attend;
2. Make it compulsory that witness must answer truthfully any question that is put to them.

If witness fails to to either for them than make it criminal offence where they should face jail term of upto 5 years.

3. Strengthen bail law such that if bail is granted the surety money should reflect the scale of accused activity. where A person is charged with mutli-billion rupee corruption than the bail surety must be reflective of that and must be in billions of rupees. The amount of surety must be deposited with the Court before the person can be released on bail.

4. NAB should have power to levy each and every property owned or controlled by the accused and upon conviction it shall be deemed that all property is purchased as a result of proceeds of crime thus the government should be able to seize the property. It than should be upon the person to satisfy the court about the legitimate source of wealth.
