NEW DELHI: Addressing Indian citizens at community reception in France, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said that India has right to demand permanent seat in UN security council.
Speaking at Carrousel du Louvre, Modi said, "Gone are the days when India had to beg; now we command our rights." Modi is on a two-day trip to Paris.
"I have come to France earlier, as a tourist, but today I have come to bring tourists to India," Modi said.
Modi arrived to an enthusiastic welcome at a reception from the Indian community on Saturday evening.
He mentioned, "Earlier I wanted to visit France out of curiosity, to see how it is, today I've come with a dream to take my nation ahead."
Talking about India's relationship with France, Modi said that France is the first one to raise voice in case of any injustice to India.
