The Cyberspace Administration of China recently criticized the Global Times for reports on topics including “a poll last month about whether mainlanders supported unifying Taiwan by force, an editorial on US presidential hopeful Donald Trump, and an op-ed on the looming release of the last Tiananmen prisoner.” The South China Morning Post reports:

Well, contrary to popular beliefs , opinions from GT do not necessarily reflect those of the govt.

Fake news. GT is completely supported by the party leadership. "China digital times" is banned within Great Firewall as some kind of FLG organization.

Attack on Taiwan is already in advances stages of preparation. It will take place within five years guaranteed.

GT represents the policy of Xi Jinping, while it is Hu Jintao's Tuanpai who manifests the criticism.

Tuanpai is just a bunch of spineless traitors, they all need to be trialed for treason.

That's a common scene. We also have cars (minivans with a loud speaker and Red Flag+Chinese Taipei flag on top of it) regularly driving along Taipei streets and playing patriotic songs.

The matter of fact is that, as President Xi says, blood is always thicker than water. Political disagreements will be eventually solved, I have full faith on this.

Just this year, from my department, three professors went to Shandong University for regular teaching. The connections are too strong to be easily broken.
