Ghaznavi Masjid is the ruins of an old Masjid in Swat, KPK that was built in the 11th century during (as the name would suggest) the time of the Ghaznavid Empire. This makes it the 2nd oldest Masjid ever discovered in Pakistan (the Jamia Masjid of Thatta predates it), and the oldest discovered Masjid in KPK.

An inscription on the ruins of the Masjid attests to it's 11th century origin, and that it was built by a Ghaznavid general going by the name of Amir Nustagin. The evidence also suggests that it was built over the ruins of a Buddhist stupa, which was probably destroyed by the Ghaznavids prior to the Masjid's creation.

. . . . . . . .
It's located in village Odigram which is about 6 km from Mingora on the GT road. From GT road u need to take a turn to North and from there and from there its about 2 km to the Masjid which is located in the middle of a mountain. The road to Masjid is paved and there is also a parking space, coordinates are 34.743170, 72.314445 of the Masjid. No one is allowed to enter the Masjid if you are a tourist then ask the security guard he can show you around and will allow you to enter

Looks nice, generally speaking whole North Western Pakistan and North Western India is a hilly Country with mountains topped with grass and snow kissing the Sky all over Region, makes place look even more Beautiful.

Should be rebuilt to promote tourism and educate the populace about the Ghaznavi Sultanat.
+1 would love to pray in this historic mosque.

in India we are currently restoring Ancient tombs and monuments as well, this Mughal garden fully restored in Delhi.
