Ghani wins presidential vote - preliminary result

If this is true than that sounds like Afghan-Pakistan relations would be heading in the right direction....maybe in a few decades we'd be able to put the bitterness of the past behind us & truly forge a relationship built on Brotherhood !

Our current leaders can only build the foundation, it is up to our coming generation to decide how our relations will develop.

.
I'm not happy because my Brother @Sher Malang was nominated by Abdullah Abdullah on the women's seat in the Afghan Parliament....now he won't become a Parliamentarian ! :(

Rumor has it that he even went under the knife to look more lady like ! :o:

Teri toh... ahahha congrats everyone :dance3:

Abdullah Abdullah had a militant mind and would drag Afghanistan Further into Chaos.

Dr Ashraf Ghani economic Ambition for Pakistan is comparable to PTI Economic policy for Afghanistan but unlike us,they succeeded in electing a real leader.

Dr Ashraf Ghani at the moment is the most Education qualified President in the region with Pakistan and iran not even in the scene and comparable to Modi team.

Pakistan should offer full support to Afghanistan.Help them in the peace deals process and i am sure they will

+1,Dr Ghani has a fine economic vision.

Ashraf Ghani is a very pure person with great ambitions, and I don't believe that he cheated in this Election. Although it is clear that some people with no connection to Ashraf Ghani cheated on his behalf, because they feared that Abdullah x2 would win, because he himself ordered his followers to cheat.

In the End i believe in democracy as the right way forward, but it will take time to eliminate corruption, and rigging but what it brings of good to the people is far greater than the negative sides.

The greatest gift of democracy is legitimacy of government.

Don't push such stupid conclusions.Pro Pakistan doesn't mean he will compromise Afghanistan interest for Pakistan.

Most important such posts attracts Indian poster and will lead to trolling
We don't want Afghanis to loose there interests. We just want a stable neibour that dont mess around our borders speaking shit in regular intervals and continiously refusing to cooperate.
All needed by Mr Ghani is good gestures and stop anti Pakistan Activities and elements like TTP.

Our Interest is a Stable and friendly western Border and a secure route to central Asia. Thank God That Northern Alliance snake Abdullah Abdullah is not in office he would have been second Karzai

.
Ghani has actually used these two countries as an example for is Pakistan policy.

He is an economist, so the economy will be putted in fast track.
Peace with Taliban, and a better relationship with Pakistan is a top priority.
And when the republicans wins the US election, then he will use Khalilzad to acquire some lethal weapons for our armed forces.
The relationship with India and specially with the Modi government will get even better.
But If Those better relations with india come on cost of supporting TTP and BLA then case closed mate. Karzai Era repeat Telecast.
Its sad that we are all neibours and i have to say this. The deeper Afghanistan makes defence ties with India the more problem they will create in Pakistan. Economic ties are great, Let india Develope your Infrastructure and let their do business here for benefit of both Indian and Afghan nations.
But stay away from defence pacts.
I believe Russia China and USA will be more then willing to help Kabul Government for a sizeable buildup against terrorists.
Afghans should stay away from Indo-Pak Fued its in tgere best interest.
cheers

A good relationship with India does not mean that it will hurt our relationship with Pakistan, and the Afghan government will also have some request from Pakistan such as an elimination of AT and Haqqani bases on Pakistani soil.

Indias primary role in Afghanistan will be private sector investment and a buildup of the national infrastructure.
Hopefully our main weapon supplier will be America in the future, until then we are in an urgent need for weapons, and India has offered their help trough Russia.

The new Afghan Government will be more independent, so an issue between India and Pakistan will remain an issue between India and Pakistan. The Afghan government will try to stay more neutral in these matters.

.
Ghani has good pedigree, I wish him well. Here is hoping for sincere and genuine efforts from Afghan government to control their country and bring peace to the region.

If he doesn't then we all know whats going to happen my Afghan friends...

And finally we can remove the border issue, agree on the line and secure it from both sides,

Afghanistan's Ashraf Ghani leads in early vote count

Mr Ghani has shot into the lead after trailing in the first round

Former Afghan Finance Minister Ashraf Ghani is leading the race to replace Hamid Karzai as president, according to preliminary results.

Mr Ghani won 56.44% of votes in the 14 June run-off, election officials said. His rival Abdullah Abdullah had 43.56%.

Mr Abdullah, who fell just short of an outright majority in the first round, rejected the result.

Both men have alleged fraud in the election. Votes are being re-checked at more than 7,000 polling stations.

They represent nearly a third of centres where votes were cast and correspondents say recounts could significantly alter the result.

Chief election commissioner Ahmad Yusuf Nuristani stressed that the results were not final and acknowledged that there had been "some mistakes in the overall process".

"It is only initial results," he told a news conference in Kabul. "There is a chance of change in the overall figure.

"The announcement of preliminary results does not mean that the leading candidate is the winner.

"We announced preliminary results today and it is now the complaints commission's duty to inspect this case."

Ahmad Yusuf Nuristani, chairman of the Independent Election Commission of Afghanistan, announced the results

The election commission said it would now audit an estimated four million votes.

Final results are due on 22 July.

Mr Abdullah was well ahead after the first round in April, winning 45% of votes cast while Mr Ghani had 31.5% and came second.

Correspondents say the election could pose worrying questions for future stability if the final outcome is not accepted.

Mr Ghani, a former World Bank official, is believed to have won votes among tribes from the Pashtun majority in southern and eastern areas.

A spokesman for Mr Abdullah, who is of Tajik-Pashtun parentage, was swift to reject Monday's initial figures.

"As we had rejected the outcome of the result before and had declared that we could not trust the election commission, our stand is the same today," spokesman Fazlurrahman Oria told the BBC.

The two rival camps were locked in talks for much of Monday, delaying the results announcement as they sought to defuse tensions over the vote.

It comes during a critical year for Afghanistan. Most foreign troops are due to withdraw by the end of 2014.

Afghanistan's 2009 presidential election was also marred by claims of mass fraud. Dr Abdullah pulled out of the race, which was won by Mr Karzai.

And finally we can remove the border issue, agree on the line and secure it from both sides,

Well Afghanistan can never agree on the Line publicly, But it may be an unofficial possibility in the the state of mind of our political atmosphere as long as it brings prosperity with it.

I believe that the line is not a priority for Ashraf Ghani, and the issue will be discussed on the community level and not political level.
