MONTREAL - Forces loyal to Libyan
strongman Moammar Gadhafi are no
longer able to launch a credible military
offensive, the commander of NATO-led
Libyan operations told AFP in an
interview Aug. 11.

"The Gadhafi regime's forces continue
to be weakened, both in strength and
their will to fight," Canada's Lieutenant-
General Charles Bouchard said,
speaking from his Italy headquarters,
as rebel troops made new advances. "They are no longer able to launch a
credible offensive," he added.

Bro i think you mean "launch offensive" not "lunch offensive". I don't think he could swallow it!!

.
Got to say; Gadhafi has managed to stay this long without being squashed shows that NATO has drastically weakened.

.
Lunch offensive ??? Maybe because of Ramazan I think

These wars are not existential for NATO. They are fought in a manner to minimize (1) NATO casualties and (2) non-combatant casualties, in that order. Therefore they are not as decisive as they could be if NATO wanted to cause the total destruction of Gadhafi, and all of those who are supporting or acquiescing in his rule. Yes, of course NATO is "weak" because the European nations have traded their military prowess for social welfare programs. But the slow-motion military action against Gadhafi is primarily the result of attempting "blood-less" warfare.

Without big daddy USA, Europe is just a frail stack of cards.

With big daddy USA, well, maybe in Africa and Middle East they might have a chance

Do you think that USA will decrease as well its military budget? especially now with the big problems of debt you get

This offensive must be pretty "tasty", but the old man Ghadafi just doesn't have the stomach for it :P

NATO and US could crush Gaddafi's regime in a matter of hours, if not minutes, if they had such intentions. Most of the countries which are loaning money to the rebels, already set up deals so they are paid back in full once the rebel come in power. The longer the war lasts, the higher the debt for the Libyan rebels.

Sure the US can just nuke Libya, but that is not protecting Libya people, is it? This is not Iraq and there are only 6 million Libyan people they can murder, so NATO better watch out how they want to do it.

Q. Why NATO is attacking Libya ?
.
Ans. Some believe it is about protecting civilians, others say it is about oil, but some are convinced intervention in Libya is all about Gaddafi’s plan to introduce the gold dinar, a single African currency made from gold, a true sharing of the wealth. “It’s one of these things that you have
to plan almost in secret, because as
soon as you say you’re going to
change over from the dollar to
something else, you’re going to be
targeted,” says Ministry of Peace founder Dr James Thring. “There were two conferences on this, in 1986 and 2000, organized by Gaddafi.
Everybody was interested, most
countries in Africa were keen.

Somehow I don't think it is because of the gold dinar.
