Getting religion in our bloodstream By Ayesha Siddiqa

You don't really expect an ISI operative, even if a blood relative, to be talking about what they do or don't do --- ISI, as an instrument of the army is neck deep in promoting Islamism in society - this is no secret

This would be true if you had said this in the 1980s. Right now the ISI's main objective is to counter the hate filled propaganda being spread by the TTP besides their role of co-ordinating and performing intel ops.

ISI is a professional institution, outspring of Pakistan Army which itself is of international standards, the objective of the Defence institution is to protect the country, it takes such absurd blames very lightly, cause its part of the game...

The lady has no knowledge of Pakistan's military and intelligence and it's inner workings so what's the use pretending. Anyone can see the news and turn people's fears into a shabby article or a crappy book.
People can witness police and Army misbehaving on the news?

That's a very vague statement. I would appreciate some details.
Can you tune in to TV and see the Army shooting peaceful citizens or the police refusing to arrest protesters busy harming other Pakistanis?

The Army never shot at any "Peaceful Citizens", depends on what your definition of a "Peaceful Citizen" is. If shooting at the Taliban is akin to shooting at "Peaceful Citizens" then guilty is charged.

As far as the police is concerned, it is a highly infamous agency because many people are in it because of political influence and not on merit. It is infamous but the police is maturing quickly and will in the next half a decade or so, mature in to a more responsible organization.

...Why pretend that the government does not have information about the nefarious activities of militants in the society? The local police in Punjab and Sindh, where militancy is growing at a steady pace, are usually aware of the activities of people. The problem occurs when the police get orders from their bosses not to interfere with members of militant groups, and militants are then rescued by intelligence agencies...The sad part is that for years the police of the area was forced to lie to people investigating...The Punjab government also seems to have bought into the strategy of the intelligence agencies of trying to accommodate members of militant groups by giving them public and private sector jobs...in the absence of a programme to deradicalise these elements, the strategy of integrating them in society may run the risk of camouflaging its further radicalisation...seemingly non-militant activities such as welfare and relief work are not an end but means to an end. The peripheral activities are primarily a cover to hide the actual work and intent of these outfits.
Ayesha saddica............. very biased and very pessimistic in her approach i am sick of her articles now.............

Or do you hold that it is NEVER appropriate, under ANY circumstances, for a non-Muslim to kill a Muslim - or by extension, a not-so-observant Muslim to kill a fanatical jihadi one?

when a fanatical JIHADI kills a SOVIET he is a freedom fighter.

Go0d!

but if fanatical JIHADI kills an AMERICAN he is terrorist.:guns:

what a hypocrisy!

Listen mate Americas and israeli response is always disproportionate.
What supports your faith in such a claim? Fact, or feeling? What really happened, or what you wish to be the truth?
