Perhaps thats because Japan is a democracy....and whoever would have their fingers on the N-button would be held accountable to his actions and subsequent retaliation by the people....whereas the aforementioned countries all have bigoted / unstable leaders like Kim Jong...or the Myanmarese junta or the Iranian spiritual leaders for whom the deaths of millions of human beings can be justified and in whose dictionaries the word " restraint " does not exist.....

I think its more appropriate to say stable countries as opposed to democratic countries are more suited to possess WMD's, ultimately the people don't actually decide how the weapons are used and by the time its used it will be too late for anyone to be held accountable.

Thank god you're not in charge. China would never tolerate a nuclear armed Japan. There would be war before that happens and given how much the Japanese economy is dependent on China it would be economic suicide as well.

meat of my 1st post was to say that japan would most likely develop the nukes and the second post that whats the new threat for China if japan develops nukes ? since you re talking about China not tolerating Japan if they develop nukes and there will be a war.

Democracy hah? what an excuse. Let everybody have the nukes who can have it, every country need to have it to defend themselves be it a democratic or non democratic, it is vital for everyone. Nobody is responsible or irresponsible if they have the nukes. if you have it then you will use it if you see the need, simple as that. Yes, let everybody have it, not the organizations, but the countries, the settlers have already had it(israeli gov). why should only a few countries have it to bully the rest of the world? let all people have it, that will probably make everybody think to put an stop to the nukes for every single country.
