Turkish president's spokesman İbrahim Kalın called the German resolution on 1915 events a move that reflected the European country's "political unawareness."

In his remarks made in the Kenyan capital Nairobi on Thursday, Kalın said, "Turkey has nothing to avoid or to come to terms with in its history. Making accusations through the 1915 incidents to try to oppress the Republic of Turkey means you do not know anything about Turkey and its nation," he said.

"We condemn this resolution which has no meaning and is invalid for Turkey."

Kalın reminded that President Erdoğan has called for the establishment of a joint commission of historians to study the episode in 2005, however neither Armenia nor those who rule out genocide claims responded to that call.

"Leaving those calls unanswered and making propaganda of a so-called genocide with a parliament motion can only be explained through a feel of guilt."

"Those who are engaged in such propaganda are not only unable to read the history correctly but also the present." Kalın said.

The lower house of Germany's Federal Parliament approved a controversial motion labeling the 1915 events as 'genocide' on Thursday, disregarding warnings from Turkey.

Ankara strongly criticized the resolution and noted that it will not contribute to reconciliation between the two states, while urging Germany, which has an extensive genocide record from Namibia to the Holocaust, to take a fair and objective stance in line with European law.

The Turkish Foreign Ministry called on Germany to not politicize a historical event, which occurred 101 years ago, and take a fair and objective stance, which was a requirement of European law to which it is a party.

The resolution accuses the Ottoman government of 1915 of allegedly carrying out "systematic genocide" against Armenians, as well as other Christian minorities.

Turkey denies the alleged genocide, but acknowledges that there were casualties on both sides during the events taking place during World War I.

According to Turkey's viewpoint, deaths of Armenians in eastern Anatolia in 1915 occurred after some sided with invading Russians and revolted against Ottoman forces. A subsequent relocation of Armenians resulted in numerous casualties.

Turkey describes the 1915 events as a tragedy for both sides.

Ankara has repeatedly proposed the creation of a joint commission of historians from Turkey and Armenia plus international experts to tackle the issue.

Can you post the video
there are so many videos of shiekh imran regarding ottoman empire and it's role against the orthodox christianity. although i do not agree with everything he says but his opinion about many things has proved to be right. he often says that according to the hadiths of the Prophet SAW there will be an alliance between muslims and orthodox christians and just last week putin said that he is ready to ally with the muslim world. his actions in the syria and crimea greatly stunned the zionist and their muslim puppets in the region.

Yes, I do listen to him,

I listened to him and many others. The things which the ulma like sheikh said and people used to laugh at came true VERY SLOWLY with passage of time.

We can just wait and see...

They do, Germany takes fully responsible.

As for İbrahim Kalın, he is simply a idiot; no....idiot is not a strong enough word. Historians and other experts from around the world acknowledge the Armenian Genocide as do many countries. The evidence is overwhelming, I'm simply shocked that people still deny what happened. Do idiots like İbrahim Kalın believe it's a giant worldwide conspiracy theory?

It is simply a pretence to keep Tukey out of EU. As if Russia, US, UK, France, Germany didnt commit genocides durring their attempts to colonize the world.

French massacres in Algeria
Russian Massacres during expansion of Soviet union.
American massacres in Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Libya, Vietnam, Japan
German massacre of Jews and any person who had color less than white.
British massacres of Aboriginal and Tori straits people which laid foundations of australia. It was same British who massacred native indians which was later named as united states of america.
Australians didnt recognise Aboriginals as human beings in their constitution untill 1970s and hunted them like animals.

EU is a full of nations which committed unimaginable atrocities. So in short this is not about some hundred year old massacre but a lame excuse to keep turkey out of EU. The current establishment of Germany and France is comfortable with their hold on EU and that hold will break with introduction of Turkey.
