As a neighbor, Pakistan is particularly feeling the effects of the crisis in Afghanistan. Germany will not leave the region alone. In addition to our financial commitment, we will continue concrete projects, e.g. on border management. HeikoMaas in Islamabad

For me, there is a lesson to be learned from these events: What are military operations for? To end a terrorist threat, a war? Are they suitable to export our preferred form of government? That has obviously failed in Afghanistan. HeikoMaas

Be very careful here. These sudden visits aren't a coincidence. The Europeans don't want to acommodate Afghan refugees. The Europeans know what is heading their way. An ocean of Afghan refugees. The EU wants to settle Afghan refugees in neighboring countries and Pakistan is very high on that list.
