Japan is different from Germany bro. Since Japan hasnt really sincerely apologised/repented for its crimes like Germany did. In germany denying war crimes/atrocities is a criminal offence, in Japan its not, and is even welcomed by some polticians(even their prime minister often pay respect to their war criminals). So you cant compare the 2.

Thats why you see my country and France who both suffered under Nazi Germany now pleading with Germany to re arm/take more responsibilities in world issues, because we both know Germany has fully and sincerely repented. Do you think we would have been pleading for them to assume more roles in world affairs/re arm if we thought they werent sincerely repentant ?
This is why you will never see China and South Korea pleading Japan to re arm/assume more responsibilites in world affairs, simple because the U.S didnt denazify Japan, so Japan hasnt really come to terms with its world war II history.

So please dont compare Germany with Japan.

I've stated it before. Germany must re-arm itself in a manner which suits its economy. A strong Germany is good for Europe.

Studies have shown that investments in "Butter" have a greater return than investments on guns. 'Guns vs. Butter model'. And German investments into infrastructure, education, civilian R&D have allowed it to become what it is today.

The best thing to focus on is new tech and R&D. There are plenty of NATO countries that can supply manpower.
