Do the math. Russia has gold worth $140b. It makes gold worth $20b per year. If Russia turns to gold then Russia can print rubles worth $20b per year.

Yeah I think so too. But humans also need to kick Bush, Cheney, Clinton, Obama, and Trump into Guantanamo as well. All war mongers, mass murderers, war criminals as much as Putin ...right?

Also Zelensky needs to be executed too then since he has committed mass murder of Ukrainian people by directing commands onto insurgents and Ukrainian military to kill Ukrainians trying to leave. This is the first time in the 21st century where civilians are used as hostages by its own military and used as shields against invading military. Better people have suffered worse than simply executing such a criminal.

As for gold, without using it for backing Ruble now, it could fall faster unless more nations are willing to buy Ruble to buy Russian energy. So that's what I mean by they have not much choice in using gold.

After backing it with gold.

If they can get more major economies to buy Rubles for Russian energy and exports, then it'll be 2x or more than pre-war value against USD assuming same factors and status for everything else.
