Western citizens rather buy domestically produced products. Why would they want to develop india? Trump won on MAGA, not make in India. India's advantage is a huge domestic market but as we see foreign brands dominate in India.

Trump dont want to bring shoe manufacturing to usa. He want high value products made in usa. TSMC just announced 12 billion dollar investment in usa to build worlds most advanced semi conductor in usa. Now if TSMC did that to india instead of usa he would get pissed.

Nope. There are still garment manufacturers in Europe and America. Current coronavirus crisis has shown you cannot rely on foreign nations supplying essentials like ppe. Advanced industries like chip manufacturers are mostly automated and not everyones qualified for them jobs.

That is why i said pharma and certain life saving medical equipements will be move back to west.

But shoe...garments...toys etc are low value manufacturing and not related to natinal security. So no one cares if its manufactured in india, vietnam or bangladesh for say.
