Featured German embargo on UAE K9 howitzer

Anyone knows why Korea uses German engine for K9. They use Doosan engine for K2 Black Panther tank, which is stronger engine.

The Doosan Engine is still going trough intense testing for the ME climate.. Now South Korea is working its own transmission system.. once these too are fully operational.. the UAE will get the K9 and Saudi Arabia the K2 Black panther MBT..

Doosan is the world's biggest diesel engine maker. They use Doosan for K2 Black Panther tank (1500hp), so I do not understand why they need German engine for this howitzer (1000hp)

Because they produce German engine under-license without their own intellectual property right
