General Zia and Our History

What good rule he did, can you specify ? What special done to improve the country.
He brought the military rule killed mujib, killed many freedom fighters, brought back
the anti independence power JEI and its leaders. Why he shuld be treated as hero.
He brought a dark era of killing spree. Thats why pro BD people killed him.

Only good in him he was anti india nothing else. I can only say he was a FAKE HERO.

Zia

Man not only you need to grow up but also need to learn little bit more of our history. Stop saying crap like Zia killed mujib, yes he killed many ,but not pro BD ppl but pro India specifically. He also brought back the plague we are now infected with. He was a war hero, still is ,he did not surrendered to enemy the moment our nation was in peril .he was not languishing in side Lahore jail when our forefathers were getting killed en mass.the dark era of killing spree started in 1972. He took charge when we were drifting in to abyss .that's why pro Indians killed him.he was as fake a hero as the fake father of the nation.

You need to sometime understand what you are talking. He wasnt only the war hero neither most important person in the war. I was not talking about his part of war. Now stop your gibberish. He killed Mujib its proved research about it.Man was a traitor. My ancestors directly faced problems by him. He created problems for every pro independence people and freedom fighters. He was actually anti independence thats why he brought back all the anti independence force like jei in the country.

Its your opinion and does not have to be a fact. Remember one rule, unfettered power in the hands of a particular person is never good.

That's true. But Zia being a martial administrator did nothing bad compared to what Ms. Hasina is doing these days.

Thank you for your valuable in depth completely wrong and garbage version of our history.was any freedom fighter in your family? From your distorted version of truth proves ,NO.if anti Independence make someone fight for Independence then we need 16 core anti independence individual right now to save us from current spawn of the devil we are under.which he also brought back from Delhi.

I know 2 freedom fighters from my family whom were also from armed forces. They done some important part in the war. Also in charge of 2 training camps across the border. They had to leave their jobs after mujib's assasination and after zia taken the power. They were not only removed from job but also continuous harassment by zia's supporters. Continuous bomberment on the roof and beside boundery. It happened till the evil's death. Its true for other pro bd people too.

BTW whom I talking to who's family were happy and celebrated by kalojam after mujib's assasination.

If your ancestors had the same traits as yourself, i can understand very well why Gen Zia took such steps :hang2:

Zia’s death anniversary today
STAFF CORRESPONDENT

Today is the 32nd death anniversary of late president Ziaur Rahman, founder of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party.

To observe the day, the main opposition BNP and its associated bodies have chalked out a 10-day programme including discussions, blood donation and free medical treatment.

General Ziaur Rahman, Bangladesh’s first military ruler, rose to power on 7 November 1975 following the coup of mid-August and the counter-coup of November 3. In April 1977, he took over as president from Justice ASM Sayem, who had been installed in office by General Khaled Musharraf on November 6, 1975 but was kept on by the new military leadership.

Zia organised presidential elections in June 1978 in which he defeated General MAG Osmany, the candidate of the combined opposition. In the same year, he founded the BNP. On his watch, general elections in early 1979 gave his new party a majority in parliament. Zia was assassinated in 1981 in an abortive coup at the Chittagong Circuit House.

The BNP yesterday asked all its units to observe the day with due respect and solemnity.
The party flag will be hoisted at half-mast at its Nayapaltan central office in the capital and at all party offices across the country.

Leaders and activists of the party, including BNP Chairperson and Zia’s widow Khaleda Zia, will offer Fateha and place wreaths at Zia’s grave in the capital’s Sher-e-Bangla Nagar early in the morning.

Later in the day, she will attend a milad mahfil and inaugurate a blood donation programme at the party’s central office premises.

Pro-BNP doctors will provide free medicine and medical treatment in front of the party office in the morning.
