What special he bring for Pakistan? nothing. It's just about do more for US interest and accept Indian supremacy and don't pursue your Interests (like CPEC, relations with Russia etc.).

Even a layman can understand what US is upto when it's comes to Pakistan. Pakistan can not obey US instructions if it have to safeguard it's interests.

I hope CJCS have some success in convincing General Votel to bring peace in Afghanistan.

I hope new POTUS should put CIA in somekind of Jar so that peace should prevail in Afghanistan , Iraq and in Syria..

The US acknowledges Pakistan's role one day, and blames Pakistan for everything wrong in the world the next day.

Build a wall around Langley, and make the CIA pay for it.

traditional statement, next hour state departement will issue its traditional statement of "safe heavens" and "do more". Meanwhile ISIS is growing in Afghanistan as if other fanatics were not enough in the region,

just get lost from our region if you cant hit Fazlullah aka Mullah Radio and stabilize Afghanistan. Let China, Pakistan, Russia and Iran solve this mess.

. .
One way or the other US ll continue engaging with Pakistan and so shud Pakistan reciprocate so. Throughout this time US posture has gradually changed from a hostile demanding Boss to a one who is now realizing the importance of Pakistan and its dealings with Pakistan are changing accordingly.

Because we are not doing enough to eliminate extremism & terrorism. Look, Lal masjid terrorists are roaming free in Islamabad after killing our 12 soldiers, extremism is At peak in Punjab, no action is taking against some banned organizations. Why are you surprised world is not trusting us after Osama bin Ladin episode, leakage of nuclear secrets by Abdul qadeer khan in blackmarket,? There are many things we should make clear policy and to gain trust of world.

Welcome General being our guest.

I hope it was not connected to recent Babur-III test, sanctions on Pakistani entities and stopping from tests of expected advance system by offering us F-16$ again. Also, it wouldn't be about growing relations with Russia and our advancing relationship with respect to Afghanistan stability as recently meeting held between Russia, Pakistan and China.

Rest about Afghanistan, General must be aware about ISIS growing strength and India's interference through Afghanistan. General must be aware of d friends and their role in Afghanistan that are currently giving a real tough time to Kabul, Taliban obviously.

So hopefully, we will not be blamed another day for all the mess that has less to do with us but sanctions against us.

I was referring to the accusations that Pakistan was to blame for the war in Afghanistan, which is pure nonsense.
Also, this kind of rhetoric: 'Time to put the squeeze on Pakistan'

Hence me saying 'everything wrong in the world'. What you are talking about are Pakistan's internal matters.

And no, extremism is not 'at peak' in Punjab or anywhere in Pakistan. It's 70% lower than it was in 2014, and is decreasing further.

As for Bin Laden episode - don't take their word as gospel, for God's sake. Even their own people are sceptical of that narrative, and rightly so.
---
What you refer to as "the world" is only representative of American interests and allies, and we are under no obligation to gain their trust. Their influence makes it seem like they're the whole world, but they're really not.

If we need to 'do more', they definitely need to do less (damage, that is). Pakistan's clandestine dealings are nothing compared to how much the Americans and their agencies have contributed to global terrorism. The hypocrisy of them lecturing Pakistan while literally giving weapons to ISIS is astounding.

Jan 2014 - Congress secretly approves U.S. weapons flow to 'moderate' Syrian rebels
Dec 2015 - Amnesty report: ISIS armed with U.S. weapons

Oops!

Wait, it's not over yet:
June 2016- C.I.A. Arms for Syrian Rebels Supplied Black Market, Officials Say

They did the same with the Taliban in the 80s.

And yet It's Pakistan who must do more.

Edit: I'm not claiming Pakistan is perfect - our agencies have made mistakes and our law enforcement /Counter-terrorism authorities definitely need improvement. But blaming Pakistan for everything is unfair.

No one noticed the visit.......... expecting , Democractic elect President to show his presence in Pakistan

Becasue broader spectrum is discussed , economic side, military side and various other matters

There is disconnect between General vs General Talk and US Politicians (ELECTED) vs Pakistan talks the only way this can resolve is once we have president of state visit Pakistan otherwise such visits are not that prominent

The General may state this and that , and yada yada yadah we will believe the statements gullibaly and then 2-3 days later when we will pick up newpapers we will hear anti Pakistan stuff

But end of day back at Home in USA and Senate , anti Pakistan Material will be written and promoted and that is not and ideal situation

No point playing the Good Cop and Bad cop

We need to Chat with Big Boss
  • Discuss economic items
  • Discuss past items held in storage or items blocked (Military package or planes or items)
  • Discuss general economic cooperation goals
  • Discuss Nuclear member alliance membership request
  • Discuss the recent ban on some Pakistani Peaceful defence companies

Head of State and delegation vs Pakistan's Head of state and delegation

The acknowledgement has to come from Head of State at STATE level

Any statement by General himself would only be a personal statement as per rules of United state politics, that sentiment does not appears to be visible in United State Senate due to lack of communication

Most of US general statements related to Pakistan , specially if they are in positive light are never reported in US media

The damage done under Obama's government I am afraid has left very negative sentiments

I don't think such an issue can be resolved in 1-3 years

  • I think the Fiasco with F16 thing at end of Obama Term was perhaps the most confusing international incidents

We can have a fantastic relation on Military General vs General basis however the acknowledgement and our sacrifices do not tend to be properly represented in US senate or general echelon of US media

Similarly the losses to Human lives on Pakistan's side is not Honestly or properly reflected in US media or official US press releases during engagement with press

  • Perhaps that was Obama policy however it was very nagative
