General Raheel Shareef in front of Altay Tank

No we won't face restrictions or sanctions from South Korea. But we can face sanctions from Europe and USA.
:what:
What makes you say so sir?
Why you think that our relations with Kore are any better then our relations with Germany?
As far as i have studied them, they are all the same. Plus if you/we fear the US involvement, they have much much more influence of Korean then they have over Germany. Please remember that it is SOUTH Korea that we are talking about.

No Korea and Japan and other south eastern countries don't come with so called human right crap or other things. So relationship with South Korea is far far more safe than relationship with European countries.

IF all that depended ONLY on what you called "Human Right Crap". These may very well be excuses and if so, Korean, under influence will come up with more excuses then the Germany. US have much more control over them. Anyway, it is a non issue, the problems we faced are different so that is that. :)

South Korea wants to be independent but the USA has control over them. The wanted to sell jets to Uzbekistan but the USA vetoed it as it developed with help from Lockheed martin. Heck even the newer kfx is the same. The tank engines are built by Hyundai which is clearly not American but if they assert influence over this then it’s clear they don’t support Pakistan’s security. So for that reason I don’t think they will influence the deal. Heck even Ukraine has built a 1500hp engine. Licence the engine and reverse engineer it or even offer a high price to the designs, remember they need the money big time. but pakistan being pakistan they will at most licence the engines to be built there.

BTW I'm more interested in KORKUT SPAAG and its utility against CMs and JDAMs. Any data on that?

I think we are going to see system commonalities b/w Pak and Turkey in many areas .If their is no official policy on this we should be looking for ways to promote commonality .Why i say this
1. Turkey being Nato Ally will always have qualitative edge in weaponry .
2. In time of crisis both forces can coordinate and join each other .
3. Turkey is gate way for Western equipment .
4. Both Turks and Paks share common vision for muslims .
5. ALTAY MBT is on higher Tonnage then PA current inventory so can be an offensive weapon . F16 we have they have since we already planning to open F16 garage .

Few months ago on forum page on facebook a video was posted claiming that we are buying these. After that no news.

Ukrainian one is among the best option. We have first hand knowledge about how roughed they are, perfect for our needs. We had some issues in the recent trails, at the very end but the Ukrainian are poised to bring the tank back with some tweaks. I hope we select that engine at least and get into licensed production. Will address a large number of our needs as explained in previous posts.

We did looked at it and there are some problems and that is why that chapter was closed for good.
Little bit unfortunate but true.

As i mentioned, it would be in our best interest to go for customization. Instead of choosing a MBT choose sub systems, put them together and make a tank that best suites our needs. We have worked on AK and AK-1 project along with Al Zarar upgrades for long enough that this project wont pose many technical difficulties. The costs involved wont surpass those involved in selecting and buying a MBT from one source. The Ukrainians have an excellent engine to offer in KMDB 6TD-2 (a 1500hp variant wont be impossible either)], the body can be designed and developed based on VT-4 or type 99A. Design the command and control and battle systems based on the C4 with Turkish/Chinese help to improve on that. Same for sights and other sub systems, may even consider French or Italian systems here. The Ukrainians also have some good APS to look at. ERA can be researched or developed, Chinese Russians or Ukraine can be of assistance.

The MAIN benefit of this, as we (myself and @Quwa ) discussed in another thread a few days back (here is a link to that thread in case you are interested in details: https://defence.pk/threads/pas-new-haider-mbt-is-the-t99a-type-99-mbt.397187/page-11) would be that we may well pursue something along the lines of "Universal Combat Platform". That engine along with that main body/chassis can be the platform for the next generation of our APS, IFV, Recovery and engineer vehicles etc. That is what the Russian Armata is all about, it is one of the main advantages of that system, the commonality of platform across a wide spectrum of battle field applications. Nothing will come close to such a venture if we are to under take this as far as long term benefits are concerned. Also it is not that difficult to execute financially or technically. What it needs most is honest and devoted working and good persuasion on part of concerned government authorities so that the procurement go on with out a glitch.

That is what usually happens with Facebook video news. But this sure is an EXCELLENT point defense system and will work well for our armored formations.

bring it back buy a few and buy the designs or at least licence produce the engines and then reverse engineer it. the russain t-14 is a multi powered engine at typ[ical speeds its rated at 1000hp at combat its at 1500hp but at max power its at 2000hp causing damage to the engine. pakistan should have the ability to have this type of power management control of its tanks

not too long ago there was a PAF official standing infront of a F22 raptor, i guess pakistans looking into that bird too.

These types of AA guns are more suitable with armored divisions but again what we have can also be mobile as we can easily towed them, then why we need this? 10 time more expensive / fuel consumption yet have some mobility advantage.

You are correct every other country like to show local development to visitors its not mean they want to sell or visiting official interested.

Not just armored brigades in fact I think they should be placed right on border and these should be first one to engage enemy Air Craft when they cross border

Sir you can't deploy AA batteries next to border without any support, it will be prove just a sitting duck. As per standard procedures they can be embedded with armored divisions to provide air defense cover but most of the time they deployed well inside territory to provide defense of highly important military or civilian installations.
