General election 2019: Labour pledges free broadband for all

Many people deny, and only a few understand. The trends of poverty, violence and economic depression are not just a freak event; they are the premonitions to an outcome predicted a hundred years before: to the Decline of the West and its slow death. Many ten of thousands every year come to the West. They see it as the pinnacle of civilisation, the perfect society, the material paradise.

Many a decades ago my forefathers thought the same; they abandoned their ancestral villages and left on a no returns flight to then UK. Instead of living in a big city or a comfy suburb, they chose a small Lancashire mill town. My family is still living there but now instead of being mainly white, it is 80% Pakistani. All the whites and Chinese are leaving, with only Pakistani Italians coming in. The main ‘super’ school has about 500 in one year. Only 20 are whites. The students spend less time getting educated, but more time swearing at the teachers in Punjabi. The children there spend more time in the madrassas than in the classroom. The amount of cousin marriages are so high, the hospitals cannot cope with the amount of disabled babies. What my family came for was an illusion; a fantasy in the utmost sense. The life of man is tragic, he toiled and worked so hard, so earnestly to create a utopia, but to only find it populated in horrors.

I am at the local park. There are dozens of tents littering the place. I see a homeless woman, injecting herself. The needles drop to the floor.

I am in the city centre. The streets are dark, the back alleys smell. The body lies on the floor. Stabbed multiple times. I do not touch him, I walk away.

I am at school. They talk of sex and drugs. I do not here them. Only their souls crying “No more”. I weep with them.

Suffering is everywhere. It is part of us. No free broadband or nice car will change that. But to believe our world is just black and white is wrong; for we are beyond just good and evil. The imperfections of our species may blot out any hopes of universal peace, but to make the effort on ourselves is still feasible. To be content with what you have, just those ‘200 acres’ that you own. This is enough, however not many people realise this.

For too long now, the truth has been obscured to me. But now I see that it was right in front of me the whole time. Now I know that it is time to go home...

Have a safe journey home

Have a safe journey home

I don’t need any of your false sympathy or sarcastic derision. If you knew anything you would know that there is NO ‘real’ home for me, that statement was merely a pretence. Wherever we go it will always be the same. This is the inherent nature of the human soul, this disease of weakness that corrupts us all. No hedonism or decadence with change that. This is what you and the other ‘top minds’ of pdf don’t understand.

You are not in control, life will take you wherever it wants and you cannot do anything to stop it. Tomorrow you may lose your job, your wife, your friends. The whole existence you have ever known may come to an end. And you are completely powerless to it’s will. However much you prepare, the outcome will always be the same.

The only thing we are certain of is the world of our mind, our spirit. This world is eternal, permenant, orderly, universal. For we are one with ourself and our God, we are free from the chaos of body.

Tell me of yourself, of ‘Dark-Destroyer’. Tell me where is your home?

I was being sincere in my comment as you stated you would be returning home i hadn't intended any malice in my comments hope you can forgive me for not seeing the deeper meaning behind your words.

A labour govt this time would kill the UK economy dead - they are ideologically driven but their ideas don't add up.

Free broadband? That is a decade out of time - no one is complaining about the £15 a month it costs for the internet. Everyone has access to the internet via mobile phones too - it's a non issue which they're proposing to fix at a cost of £30billion. Just like all their other heavy handed, big government ideas to be funded by taxpayers.

I was a big supporter of Boris Johnson but he's shown himself to be untrustworthy - but I'm still voting for him over labour.

Re the NHS I'm a huge fan. As far as I see it, if all we do every day is earn money to look after the health of our loved ones, that is money well spent.

Are you for real? You will vote for Bozo knowing that he is a racist who will carve up and privatise the NHS.

Also you are clearly unaware that broadband is not the same accross the country. When you say no one is complaining having to pay for it all you mean is you are not complaining.

Free broadband will boost the economy many times more than the £30bn its going to cost. It will mean schools/community centres/ hospitals will have broadband for free that will facilitate access to services that the british poor do not have.

My god man after the austerity, brexit and the relentless Islamophobia and racism that the tories have inflected upon the nation you are still merrily going to go vote Bozo.... truely astonishing position from a POC and I assume of muslim parentage. Please do utilise your broadband and look up baroness warsi....

I am for real, because I think in real terms. Do you think 1000 or 10,000 or 1m people struggling to afford the internet is enough to justify free broadband for the whole country? £30b buys 30 hospitals every year. So ask yourself are you even on this planet?

Socialists are selling you a mirage, a utopian lollipop and you are lapping it up.

As for boosting the economy, think for a second. People who can't even afford the internet, what will they do with it to boost the economy?

This kind of thing is populism at its worst. If labour gets in, you may be happy to have your jobseekers allowance raised for a while. But in short time the queue in the dole office will bankrupt you.

Ok. You are fine with austerity, food banks, NHS being privatised, workers rights being demolished and unabated islamaphobia and racism.... cool

I don't even like Boris but he is the least worst option.

As a remainer, had Corbyn taken a clear stance to remain, I'd have supported him. But he's been as shifty as everyone else.

Ps. no one is privatising the NHS - it will be political suicide. BUT in order for that to work we need a decent opposition - which labour will never be as long as Corbyn is there.

Sorry dude you are a remainer who is going to vote for Bozo who is for hard brexit!!! You worry about labour ruining the economy and fail to see the impact of tory brexit that has already happened. Labour position is a referendum following negotiation. What exactly is so complicated to understand. And if you were a remainer why not vote for LD who simply wants to ignore the results and kill A50.

You obviously can not see the woods cause of the trees. The worst of all of this is you are going to vote for a racist. If you can deal with all these inconsistencies fair enough....its your vote.

Corbyn had the chance to force a 2nd referendum months ago when the lib Dems, labour and Tory rebels all made a stab at it - but he wasted the opportunity - which is unforgivable. He is as blameworthy for Brexit as anyone else.

On a scale of what is less dangerous for the UK - a socialist govt or Brexit - i think Brexit is preferable.

Sadly, in either scenario the UK is heading for major problems - but I think Boris is more likely to get us through it. But like you said - it's your vote.

Opposition can not force a second referendum. There is no legal basis for such a motion in the house of commons. Only a sitting government can take a descision to have a referendum. Opposition can only bring down a government through a no confidence vote. They have no other recourse. An honerable PM usually resigns if he loses a major vote....Bozo lost i think 11. The rebel coalition only had the numbers to block a no deal. Very few tory rebels wants a second referendum they all essentially wants a brexit with a deal. You forget that the rest of the opposition do not have the numbers given that irish republican to not take up their westminister seats and there are labour brexiteers.

Please do read up on it.

You can not blame corbyn for brexit. It is likely he is old labour so would be pro brexit. However brexit referendum was a purely tory project thus must carry the can for it. No other party voted to have a referendum.

Whilst it is your vote, i am seeking to get you to see through the right wing media haze. Please do not vote for a racist.

I'll be voting Labour. All this nonsense about immigration is a smokescreen. What the Tories don't tell you is that the moment they came to power they completely cut the funding Labour had in place to manage the demands on public services by the influx of immigrants.

https://www.theguardian.com/uk/2010/aug/06/fund-impact-immigration-scrapped

The global financial crisis also hit Britain hard due to our over reliance on the under regulated finance industry. The banks were bailed out to the tune of £500 billion of taxpayer funding and a fraction of that was recovered from them by the Tory governments of the last decade. Yet they'll have you thinking all the money is being spent on Tomas and Abdi.

The Tories want to give another £100 billion to the billionaires in tax breaks over the next 5 years, but want you to focus on the Ill and downtrodden.

Despite what you have written, Corbyn made the push for a second referendum a key part of his strategy since October - a position that would have changed the dynamics of the whole debate if taken earlier. He is a brexiteer at heart and he let this disaster play out.

The reason we even have this election, is because Boris is confident with labour in tatters on the Brexit issue. So I do blame Corbyn for not doing enough.

I don't vote on personality but on policy. Corbyn may be a lovely person, but his policies would be disastrous. You have to understand the kind of controlling, big government state that Corbyn's vision is.

"McDonnell said the money would be raised “in the appropriate way” :cheesy:

If Labour had a chimpanzee as leader they would have a better chance of beating the Tories.
