Can an Indian general with sensitive strategic information leave the country? Can a US general do that?

NO! If they want to enjoy life in the west they shouldn’t have joined the Army. Being a soldier isn’t a luxury and shouldn’t be. Otherwise they dont deserve the respect they try to get from the people at the expense of martyrs.

Every official serving the country comes across sensitive information at some stage of his career, this is not out of the ordinary. Divulging that information is another topic, however after serving for 30+ years, an officer has proved his loyalty to the country already, as he had been given commands as well as made part of strategic information based on his service, which is why he is then given the status of retired and facilitated for life ahead. Its now at his disposal how he wants to spend the rest of his life after taking off the uniform. This is common sense.
