Gen. Mubeen formally received in Delhi | Bangladesh | bdnews24.com
New Delhi, Mar 15 (bdnews24.com) Army Chief Gen. Md Abdul Mubeen was presented with a Guard of Honour by the soldiers of the Indian Army in New Delhi on Monday.
General Mubeen arrived Sunday on a five-day tour at the invitation of his Indian counterpart Gen. Deepak Kapoor.
Gen. Kapoor formally welcomed the Bangladesh army chief during the Guard of Honour on the South Block Lawns in New Delhi.
Gen. Mubeen is accompanied by his wife and senior officials of the Bangladesh Army.
He will have a formal meeting with Gen. Kapoor where they will discuss matters of mutual interest. He is also likely to visit different establishments of the Indian Army.
A spokesman of the Indian defence ministry said that the meeting between the two army chiefs would focus on building future bilateral defence cooperation between the two countries.
Gen. Mubeen's visit to India comes just two months after chief of Indian Air Force Air Chief Marshal P V Naik had travelled to Bangladesh on a goodwill visit in January.
