this is the most necessary step ,the day its implemented our arm forces will be transformed into an truly solid 21st century regional power, Turkey with 302,000 sq mi has achieved this & has gone to become a leader in terms of military power & international standing, just think Pakistan with 338,000 sq mi ! what immense potentials it has, & if utilized, the young officers & jawans from the army, in active participation's with the air-force,navy, students from institutions such as suparco,nescom,nust etc can really do wonders

Malik is a matchless idiot as is the entire PPP. Gen did what was right. The civil govt must now focus on its own miserable condition.

My opinion of the General is very different be it from accepting an illegal extention of tenure even past retirement age, accepting daily violations of Pakistani Airspace by Drones, Accepting Salala & Abbotabad incidents, Raymond incident etc. Acceptance of major influx of foreign intelligence operatives and mercenaries, or for allowing free hand to the current Government etc.

Pakistanis, loyal to Pakistan, would not remember the General in good terms!

Field Marshal is not a title please. For Gods sake, this is a Military Forum one would expect ppl to be aware of the basics.

It is a Rank which is awarded to generals for exemplary & exceptional services which brought glory the nation. Its for Pak to decide who deserves this & why. Unless they want another Ayub Khan.
