Geelani opposes Pak’s merger bid of Gilgit-Baltistan - says it belongs to Jammu and Kashmir

Gilgit-Baltistan is a strong Province.

The people are hard working and love their land. Kashmir is a different story.

Gillgit Baltistan are not Kashmiri people!
If you don't know the history and geography of J&K, you would do well to pipe down.

Oh, so you're now disowning the Kashmiri people, and the Hurriyat which is the ISI's adjunct in the Valley? Whatever happened to your continuous rants and drum-beating of 'wishes of the Kashmiri brothers'? 'Brothers' my a*#!

Fact is only 2% of the Kashmiri population wants anything to do with a country like Pakistan!! The sooner you guys face reality the better.

Next. Pakistan doesn't care a damn about the Kashmiri people. All they are interested in is the territory so that they can control the waters that flow into Pakistan. That's the truth and nothing but the truth! QED.

Strange logic! India has over 200 languages and an equal number of customs and traditions. So does that mean they are not Indian people?

Jammu and Kashmir is a large state which was ruled by a Maharaja in the past. Jammu & Kashmir is made up of many regions but is called Jammu & Kashmir because the two most populous regions in the state. There are other distinct regions in the state including Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan and Skardu.

Here...I'll make it simpler for you with a pre-1947 map...

Map_1_op_640x514.jpg

The Princely State of Jammu and Kashmir at the time of the partition of India
in 1947. This shows the three geographical regions
(Ladakh-Baltistan-Gilgit,
Kashmir, and Jammu
).

You do need a lecture on History and geography since they probably didn't teach these subjects to you in school. Or more likely the reality was twisted to suit the Establishment and the mullah brigade!!

That is Pre 14 August 1947 British Drawn Map! History is Nothing But Geography On Wheels. You say a map I say The People they don't want to be part of you. You can ask them if they wish to be Under India. They can speak for themselves!

There must be a reason he made such statement.
Basically he fears the weakening of j and k freedom stance. Freedom from terrorists.
