Iran causes this reaction because its rhetoric is so out of control. Iran could easily calm the situation with its neighbors if it would adopt a policy of peaceful co-existence with Sunnis. BUT, Iran doesn't take this obvious step.

Why? One wonders if the Shia theocracy is not entirely rational..... One wonders if, in fact, the Shia theocracy actually BELIEVES its own rhetoric.
