No, not about only religion. Probably MUCH has to do with American domestic politics where the Jewish money is very very important. But certainly religion is a large factor, maybe THE largest factor, otherwise how can one explain the world coming to a regional, if not a World War, over a tiny slice of land inhabited by a mere 12-15 million people?? Human population is 8 billion, spread over a very large land area in contrast.
This is not a normal conflict. That region had never been like a normal conflict. Passions run too high, too deep, and too wide. The only dispassionate factors are the warmongers in the Military Industrial Complex who High Five over the stupid wars in and around Jerusalem. Heck, even Israelis are sort of victim in the grand scheme of things.

Here's my own understanding of this: The Western leaders (with the exception of Ireland, which was pro Palestinian from the start) are starting to sound more 'balanced' because, politically, it is becoming too much for the Biden admin to allow the conflict to go on. Allowing the internet coverage back in Gaza was probably a subtle American pressure on Netanyahu to soften a little.

BUT... the real reason Biden and the Europeans are starting to sound a little more reasonable is that they know they/Israel cannot win in a regional war!!!
