All 23 Thai hostages ‘safe and will be released soon’​

Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin affirmed on Monday that 23 Thais captured by Hamas militants are safe after Thai negotiators said the hostages would be freed soon.


Srettha said he talked to Gen Songwit Noonpakdee, chief of the Royal Thai Armed Forces, on Sunday night and was informed that all 23 Thai hostages were still safe.

Srettha said Songwit had seen photos of the hostages. The defence forces chief was still negotiating with Hamas via Malaysia for the release of the Thai captives, he added.

The prime minister said the negotiators were waiting for a ceasefire of one or two days to provide a window for hostages to be escorted from the Gaza Strip.

One wrong move can start another war. The man is a joke , but he has 150,000 rockets aimed at our civilians.

Just to expand the idea, strategic defeat of Israel does not essentially mean the military defeat of IDF at tactical or operational level. It is quite possible that Israel may win at tactical and operational levels but gets defeated at strategic level.

The most practical scenario is the heavy loss of life inflicted on IDF and more importantly Israeli civilians. The viability of zionist state depends on security of life and property of Israeli civilians. If the resistance is successfully able to shatter the confidence of ordinary Israelis then the dual passport holders will surely flee their promised land to protect their lives.

The above doesn't mean that I condone the idea of targeting of civilians in war, by any side, on moral grounds. However, the realities of geopolitics are generally cruel.
