I don't care about the Size and Economic reach of Gambia but Hats off and Salute from my side for the decision

Gambia's president declares Islamic statehood - Al Jazeera English

Stupid liberal people will now come forth and say "acha kaunsi Islamic Shariat, Sunni, Shia ya Deobandi"..

to those people i would say "you people deserve the leaders that are upon you today for this reason only, that your ideology is so polluted and divided that you can not comprehend the reality".

Salute to the Leader of Gambia once again

.
There is need to retake back our Ideologies and concepts from likes of ISIS, Boko Haram and Alqaeda..........

Islamic Rule, Sharia, Caliphate, etc etc all are Islamic values stolen from us, misused and hence misjudged.......

Hoping Gambia best..........

hahaha oh when would these fools stop using religion as a tool to stay in power.

Yahya the president of Gambia is one of the most brutal dictators of this century. This ploy is just to generate some support from the masses, nothing else.

BTW this guy can cure HIV and Cancer with Bananas. :rolleyes1:

P.S I am an Islamist and all for the Sharia law and Islamic politico-socio-economic system but hate when someone uses the name of my religion for his own nefarious agenda, just like ISIS.

.
Somebody tell the USA ..... Dictator + Islamic Republic + Oil?
@Providence someone needs Freedom

Devil is in the details !

How will the civil laws get changed with this enactment ? Is there any clarity ?
What will happen to minorities ?

Oh and by the way how much oil they got ?

I don't know the Political bias behind this if any and neither do i care.
What i really care for is this entitlement and determination that the Gambian leader hailed to.

Of course you sitting 10,000 miles away will always interpret things parochially.

Failure to see both ends of the enactment can lead to civil war.

At least one sane member here who seem to know Sub Saharan Africa politics like i do.Hats off to you. I couldn't have said it better. Plus i myself have been to Gambia for Holidays, beautiful country with amazing landscape/people/beach, but nobody there dares criticize the president(like in many other African countries ruled by corrupt dictators). :disagree:

I'm surprised you even know about his claims of curing HIV with magical powers. Have you been to Gambia bro?

Nice of Gambia to finally get rid of its colonial slave status .

I don't judge.
I only appreciate the bigger verge of the notion

I have never been to Africa, but I really feel for that continent and like to follow the news.

Nobody suffered more than Africans during the colonial period. We here in Sub-continent suffered too but when British went they at least left us with some state apparatus, institutions, a railway system and a gigantic canal system, not to forget a professional and modern military. What did Africa get, depopulation (because of slavery), new ethnic divides (like Hotus & Tutsis of Rwanda created by those racist Belgians), looting of their resources and no state structures at all.

The worst part is world still doesn't care much about Africa. Boko Haram is as much an evil as ISIS is, but what is the international response to that. What real effort was put in place to eradicate the LRA. The world allowed the genocide in Rwanda to go on for a while before it intervened, would the response had been the same if Rwanda was located in ME or eastern Europe. The most ridiculous thing is even those who like to champion the cause of Muslim sufferings don't care much about what is going on in CAR.

I would like to visit Gambia one day, perhaps 30 years from now when I get retired, at least I would be able to enjoy myself in peace knowing Yahya can take care of any unwanted STD that i might get in process. That is if he is still around and I am still functional. :)
