Funeral Cermony of Mumtaz Qadri

Decision was made by authorities of federal territory. As roads were closed due to demonstrations teachers and kids could not be able to reach school. Secondly parents also avoids sending their kids to school in such situations.
Did the demos start overnight or something? Because I was thinking the schools cancellation came first, and the demonstrations afterward.

For what crime?
For speaking crap against a law based solely on Quran and Sunnah. Secondly yes in Islam you can't take law in your hands but on the other hand state has responsibility to implement Islam, if state would fail than their would be chaos

A preemptive decision and a good. This decision doesn't result in overall attendance at the funeral as people reached Rawalpindi from all across the country.

A pretty sizeable crowd but no where near one million or hundred thousand number that people are throwing around. Take it from someone's who managed large gatherings. This is 15k-20k at best.

But that's besides the point. Why so many people gathered up is what needs to be discussed. And I think only Pakistanis will really know the answer to that. And it's no clear and straightforward answer but rather vague and oblique.

You have people in this crowd that represent so many different schools of thoughts and opinions. The hardcore JUI etc are here but also the regular folks who feel a little compelled to be here because they want to do the right thing and be on the right side of the religion at the end of the day.

After all, here is a man who silenced the heretic and did not care for his life. Thats basic programming of our people that you shall not commit blasphemy nor will you tolerate it. And a lot of people here in the crowd are playing it safe. That hey, what if Qadri did the right thing, we must go to the funeral or be eternally damned for hell.

It's this programming that need to be evolved. Where people are so scared of the hell that they'd go to extreme ends to make sure they do end up there. It's the same programming that prevents a lot of folk at home or on tv channels from condemning the likes of Qadri.

Somehow, somewhere down the line we need to make our society stop putting so much emphasis on the idea of heaven and hell that for all we know does not even exist. And that once it's your time to go it's just simply lights out.

The pictures you saw only show Ground streets were jam packed and I am talking about several KM.It was around 1.5 to 2 million people.

Yeah, ok big guy. One or two local roads can't even accomdate 2 million people. Try to understand what a huge number 2 million is.

All schools and universities other educational institutes were closed down for security reasons on account of his funeral not for attending the funeral.

I know what is huge number 2 million is and I repeat rods were not small they are recently expanded and still were totally packed upto miles and miles.

Its not illegal and he commited no blasphemy he just called it an unjust black law i dont see any blasphemy in this statement

Islamabad police at 12 pm estimated the crowd to be 50-60 k strong at best itsl was 80k by the time of his funeral and i am being too generous

you do not need to close down schools for starting massive demonstrations in Pakistan on religious excuses
