I'm sure Indians would love the USA to be a part of SAARC, however none of their territory exists in South Asia.

A large part of China on the other hand is geographically a part of South Asia, i.e. the Tibetan plateau.

China is an East Asia nation.
They dont have any relation with South Asia .
South Asia is mainly Indian subcontinent .
Up to Afghanistan .
Ends there .
Both US and China dont have land here.

SAARC, as the name implies, is for South Asia.



Then that would get a new name. It won't have to be part of SAARC.

SAARC is extremely important for India. So is BIMSTEC. No China in either group.

I know the conquered and ruled much of India for centuries, but anyway, what does this SAARC get China? If nothing but trouble, why should China join.

the basic question I ask the SAARC bashers is that name an effective international organization
So far it has been blank stares

I am fine with pan-Asian organization with China, Japan, Korea, ASEAN and all SAARC states in it
