Few points I want to make.
a) US was paying 250$ per truck and not zero as claimed by some.
b) I was not believing the news that they have cut 33 million dollars, I guess they should give it to doctors family at-least he will get something for supporting the noble cause.
c) Negotiations from 5000$ came down to 3000$ and US was at 1000$ so 2000$ main nakki ho sakti hai.
250$ are like 20,000 rupees for all the way from karachi to Khyber. This amount is nominal considering the travel distance. And i am sure it was just put to fill in the paper work. I dont think it ever reached Pakistan's foriegn reserve just like much of the AID.
All the fuss about the doctor is just media showoff. They dont give crap about teh doctor. Raymond davis killed two Pakistanis in broad daylight and was caught redhanded. Still US got him out of Pakistan and he is living a free life in US. And that doctor was arrested week after the raid..... The doctor was a pawn and US dont care about him. However they'll use his sentence for their own agenda.
I would like some more official confirmation on 3000 dollars. But even if both parties agree on 2500 its still 10x more than orignal amount.
I said this before and I am saying this again that US should cut the AID down to zero and start giving the money in transit fee. It will give US politicians something to brag about as they took some solid measure and cut down Pakistan's AID. And Pakistani politicians will also be able to do their public stunts by saying we made US pay. Its a win win situation. And both countries should start talks in back channel to improve relationships and military coordination.
