I would prefer Dr Abdullah over Ashraf Ghani as Afghan President even though both are anti Pak but Dr Abdullah is more pragmatic and matured politician than his rival.

Abdullah Abdullah was pro Pakistan back in 80s.However when we put all our eggs in the pashtun basket he along with Ahmed Shah Masud turned against us.

Real power in Afghanistan is in hand of Taliban , rest is geberrrish but still Pakistani liberal mindset are writing against of Taliban. Today I feel proud to be Muslim to see the victory over superpower. We should accept as Pakistani what we have done with them after 911 to hand over to America . Back in days most of Afghan leadership were very much pro Pakistan but things changed after Taliban government and that was a bit of mistake.

When the Soviet war finished, Ahmad Shah Massoud approached Pakistan, but they refused him, and they (Pakistan) decided to back Gulbuddin because during the Soviet conflict, Gulbuddin listened to all of the orders of Pakistan while Massoud did not and even made a truce with the Soviets (during the soviet afghan war), which earned the distrust of ISI. When Massoud was on the winning side against his arch rival Gulbuddin, Pakistan realized they had been backing the wrong horse. The Pakistanis then backed the Taliban and discarded, Gulbuddin.

The Taliban who were tired of warlordism amongst Massoud, Gulbuddin, Sayyaf, Rabbani, Dostum and others pleaded to the Pakistani Pashtuns to come and aide them against the criminals of the nation (Massoud, Gulbuddin, Sayyaf, Rabbani, Dostum, Abdul Haq), the Pakistani Pashtuns answered the call of their brothers, the Afghan Pashtuns, in Kandahar and swept through the country.

At that point, the warlords joined together and made the Northern Alliance, Massoud even allied with Gulbuddin against the Taliban, but their efforts were useless, Gulbuddin fled to Iran, and Massoud fled to the Panjshir valley (the same valley whose people chased massoud to the mountains against his unholy Jihad in 1975 but assisted him when the Soviets came) along with the warlords who fought with one another. The Taliban were close to beating Massoud, and they would have given another 2-3 years and they would have unified the country had the Americans not intervened, but the intervention delayed the inevitable destiny that was the future of Afghanistan at the hands of the USA.

I think we have to be realistic and accept reality. Afghans whether illegal or legal refugees are never gonna go back. There is no way you can find them and force them. Rather talk to them and tell them they will not create chaos here and we will monitor it for next 10 years, if no major incident or chaos caused by them then they will be granted citizenship else they will be out. For this all of them will have to register themselves whether legal or illegal.

I am from Sialkot and we have some agricultural lands around, one of our village after some incident we decided to "huka paani band"means no body talk to afghans, no body give work, no body will rent out house and no body will sell any thing to them.....within 15 days all Afghans left our village....never come back again.
