From European dream to global giant: Airbus marks half century

. .
Personally I like Airbus A350WX and A380... travelled to Australian from Europe and it was quite comfortable (business class, not first class). But unfortunately A380 did not do a great business because of the poor business analysis & forecasting. A380 was designed based on hub and spoke model but the world preferred more and direct p2p flights and thus it favoured B777ER, B767, A330, A350 while on regional scales B737, A320 series grabbed the major business. B747 has already recovered its cost and has earned a lot of business. Another plus for B747 is that it has a freighter version and can be converted into a freighter while A380 does not.
But again there is nothing like to travel in an A380 on an ultra long haul flight. Also, AirBus jetliners are a more advanced from pilots point of view.
However, B737Max has tarnished the credibility of Boeing quite a bit and trust has gone down so if Airbus plays its cards right, Boeing is doomed as happened with DC10, Concorde. Boeing was caught lying and compromised on the quality due to organisational arrogance and greed.

by what metric ??
Boeing leads in number of aircraft. Boeing is much more profitable than Airbus
well comfort and safety alone... airbus is far superior... and i'm not just saying that based on the recent crashes.... airbus FWB is better imo than the hydraulic controls of the boeing for one....

thanks to billions of military orders... not in the private passenger market there Airbus outplays Boeing by miles... Boeing is still big only because of US Military....

Airbus planes are more advanced compared to their Boeing counterparts.

It is still Boeing

That is specutable. One of my friend is a Pilot and he clearly mentioned the pros and cons of both. Pilots prefer more control in their hands and that's a reason they prefer Boeing. Airbus has more automation control which is great they feel during a normal day but in times of emergencies it seems they will loose valuable seconds in taking manual control and turning off protection envelopes.

Boeing tried to automate stuffs to the levels of Airbus for the first time in Max737 and they didnt get it quite right. Airbus Fly by wire systems are far matured and greater than Boeing.

Naah, Airbus gives both options. I'm an amateur pilot but I have been into the cockpits and real simulators of both Boeing and Airbus. A new pilot always prefer the Airbus style cockpit while the old folks are divided into the groups. The ones spent their lives flying Boeing prefer Boeing and same is true for Airbus group.

Airbuses have been flying for 5 decades... don't you think there would have been some "extra ordinary" days? and how many airbuses have been lost due to that?

Well, that speaks for itself. A clear admission of the incompetence.
