From China to Pakistan: A well-thought-out 3,000km lifeline

along CPEC there is one big opportunity for chinese investers if they invest in these types of businesses like diary products manufacturing, textiles, food processing and packing, fruits and vegetables processing and packaging etc because on the way of CPEC each and every district have rich of these types of local resources. in this way Pakistani farmers products will go internationally and owners of business companies easily market it in gulf countries and cargo through CPEC using Gowadar port.

it will take years for it to be completed. People need to understand that the main problem is winning the heart and minds of the baloch people, You think they wont be an excess of balochi's who are not willing to pick up a gun and fight the state, this region has been deprived resources taken and nothing given back, it needs heavy investment the port is a good start, in the coming years and better Job oppertunities otherwise people will answer to problem with the gun.

China is offering another tranche of $52 billion in infrastructure investment to Pakistan, the matter is under discussion.
The more money they invest, the more stake they'll have in our internal and external security.

.
US invested heavily in its allies like UK, same is happening between China and Pakistan. Beijing is aware of Pakistan's potential. If our economy starts growing as it should, a country of 200 million people is going to be a formidable partner for China.
And tomorrow if China forces us to follow it's foreign policy ? Heh.

An Indian has posted this positive thread about Pakistan and they are not crying.
Not all indians are same and this goes for Pakistan as well and actually for almost every country. A stable india and a stable Pakistan are good for regional peace and prosperity. This may not go well with certain groups or individuals but this the truth.

This is really a good news...A stable Pakistan will make sure the Islamic radicalism that is emanating from its epicenter on the Western Part of Pakistan will not be successful and people of Pakistan will put more trust of economic development and democratic institutions. This will create a peaceful and confident Pakistan...Good luck to you.

Lol article got the 2.6% growth forecast wrong. That forecast is for the whole MIDDLE EAST which includes Pakistan. Pakistan's forecast is like around 5%

Author should do more research

China is offering another tranche of $52 billion in infrastructure investment to Pakistan, the matter is under discussion.

Now that Pakistan's new integrated stock market is about to go into NASDAQ, they are talking about over $ 50 billion investments from the US / Western investors. Microsoft is opening up a technology university and training campus in Pakistan too, starting from Punjab first.

HAER is putting in their first Laptop manufacturing plant in Pakistan with 15000 laptop to be assembled with TOT and shopped to customers every year. The phase II includes Tablets and phase III is Cell phones. All projects with manufacturing TOT.

In a few years, the consumer electronics manufacturing business alone could be worth $ 20-30 billion if you could just get one more organization to use Pakistan, like LG or Sony or Samsung or Huawi, or IBM, etc So there is estimated around $ 150 billion worth of business coming to Pakistan in the next 2-4 years. As soon as the electric issue is resolved and peace is established in larger cities like Karachi, the investments will start to pile up.

Another tranche? You mean on top of this $46 Billion?
Yes, there are multiple trenches which would come from the Chinese to setup manufacturing and distribution hubs in Pakistan. Then the Russians want to invest about $ 10-15 billion in the Steel, Mineral and Oil and Gas related industries, then the Western investors want to bring in significant investments worth around $ 30-50 billion over 5 years through NASDAQ.

So over the next 5 years or so, I'd cautiously estimate overall $ 150 billion investments from various sources (there is a big change these could reach around $ 200 billion too).

WELL MOST Pakistanis forget one basic thing that our petrol silos are still in kemari even after 1971.

IF WE CAN'T MOVE THEM FOR ALMOST 50 YEARS YOU THINK GAWADAR WILL BE UP AND RUNNING ANYTIME SOON??

No sir, we need to provide jobs to Proud Bloch People.

If Pakistan can provide 100% power and energy to every province and city, and in CPEC is constructed everything should be fine. If by then there are still no jobs in Balochistan province, I don't know what will do the trick.

Both you and the poster you responded to are right. Baluchistan needs to clear up with RAW's infected roaches, so that peace and stability can settle in and investors come and invest more.

The CPEC and all other projects will primarily benefit Baluchi people. The investment community says, first there was Karachi do did a lot of business, then due to terrorism and all, it went down (MQM), but Lahore was established and Punjab really kept Pakistan together. And the bright future of Pakistan will always be associated with Baluchistan when you'll read the history 50 or 100 years from now. Hopefully KPK will come up too soon.

This why they say 1 and 1 are Eleven, not 2. Here, each province in the time of need, has kept the country together. That's the beauty of federation and a country with diversity.
