China is offering another tranche of $52 billion in infrastructure investment to Pakistan, the matter is under discussion.
Now that Pakistan's new integrated stock market is about to go into NASDAQ, they are talking about over $ 50 billion investments from the US / Western investors. Microsoft is opening up a technology university and training campus in Pakistan too, starting from Punjab first.
HAER is putting in their first Laptop manufacturing plant in Pakistan with 15000 laptop to be assembled with TOT and shopped to customers every year. The phase II includes Tablets and phase III is Cell phones. All projects with manufacturing TOT.
In a few years, the consumer electronics manufacturing business alone could be worth $ 20-30 billion if you could just get one more organization to use Pakistan, like LG or Sony or Samsung or Huawi, or IBM, etc So there is estimated around $ 150 billion worth of business coming to Pakistan in the next 2-4 years. As soon as the electric issue is resolved and peace is established in larger cities like Karachi, the investments will start to pile up.
Another tranche? You mean on top of this $46 Billion?
Yes, there are multiple trenches which would come from the Chinese to setup manufacturing and distribution hubs in Pakistan. Then the Russians want to invest about $ 10-15 billion in the Steel, Mineral and Oil and Gas related industries, then the Western investors want to bring in significant investments worth around $ 30-50 billion over 5 years through NASDAQ.
So over the next 5 years or so, I'd cautiously estimate overall $ 150 billion investments from various sources (there is a big change these could reach around $ 200 billion too).
