Friendship Test: Trump furious with Macron's EU army initiative

This is the age of drones. No humans required on the ground.

Drones can't hold the ground, no country is no where near having the level of automation to get rid of infantry.

May be we can copy UK and induct people from around the globe (similar to commonwealth) ..there are so many immigrants, I think they would be happy to join the military services if asked.

The thing is the UK has kept amicable and even strong ties with many Commonwealth states, Europe by and large has dumped it's ex colonies bar France. They simply would not get anywhere near a large enough pool to have a viable army. The UK enacted this policy after two disastrous wars which have put off young people from joining, even though we don't have any population issues.

I really see no reference to drones on this thread in my posts... how did you do you that bro?

Well, EU already has a lot of immigrants who would love to get citizenships and furthermore, if they open such a program for foreigners (who are not already living in Europe), I'm sure they will get an overwhelming response regardless of what sort of relationships they have with those countries especially if it is not the hostile one. EU on average has higher employment opportunities, larger geography and higher indices of development than both UK and USA.
Also, I think EU in general is less hostile and less invasive than let's say USA and its pets.

I don't think that will go down well with the vast majority of 'natives' , you already have large swings to the right and far right parties are now part of government in many European states. As for the EU having better indicators, employment etc than the US and UK, that's the case for only a very few states.

EU do not have any unsolvable problems with Russia. We are neighbors and share centuries of historical relations. It is all about world hegemon and his hunger for eternal power and dictate over the world.
And that hegemon is not who you think it is....

But far right is strong in UK as well. However, these far-right rats are not brave enough to join to the military services of their countries... Ask these EDL goons and Nigel Furj that why can't an 64-million of UK's population provide 8000 people for military service?

No bro it's not, there's not a single MP from any far-right party nor have they ever one any political power for most of the UK's modern history.
You're right about the EDL lol, very brave shouting in the street but cowards when it comes to enlisting. Nigel Farage isn't like them and hates them, but that's a different topic.

And whose going to fight in this army? Many European states have populations way below the level to sustain them in the future let alone to fight a war.

Even if the combined EU Armed Forces amount to 800,000, that will be more than enough to withstand any threat in the future, given the advanced military industrial complex they share between them.

Honestly speaking, all US has to do is provoke Russians to do something militarily in Eastern Europe. It will scare the Mickey out of Germany who, will then fall back in line in support of US presence.

That in itself is a problem. They will get no where near those numbers.

Seriously though, who will attack Europe? Not Russia for sure. In fact, Russians would like to export more and more oil and natural gas to Europeans to make sure that they can make good money. China has not territorial ambitions in Europe as it has access to a far more resource-rich continent, aka Africa.

Arabs are too busy in their own regional Cold War with Iranians. Israelis have no military-level grouse with the Europeans.

The maximum threat Europeans can face is radical religious terrorism, for which, they'd need strong homeland security systems and internal monitoring technologies. Not massive standing armies.

Although a US invasion of EU cannot be ruled out if EU chooses to become independent off US policies on international politics.

True they don't face any immediate threat.
